It's Boston Gas - Emergency line.

Received a call the other day stating that I had to have my meter replaced.  Before I call this number is this legit?

National Grid Gas telling my my meter reading days were changing.

"Starting in July the day you receive your gas bill and the day you get the reading will change.  May include more or fewer billing days."

It was an automated message. Nothing to be alarmed about! (I thought it was a bill collecter at first!!)

The call appeared to be from National Grid, saying that they wanted to replace my gas meter.  I waited on hold to arrange for an appointment, but was told (by a person in a foreign call center) that they could not talk to me because it is my husband's name on the billing account.  First time in 30 years that I've heard that from a utility company!  So no appointment was made and this is National Grid's problem.

This is not National Grid. I called the real National Grid # and they told me it had nothing to do with them.

It was an automated call that stated they were National Grid and wanted to schedule time to replace my gas meter.

I thought this was a scam so I didn't call back but instead called national Grid's customer service number. Turns out it was legit and they wanted to schedule a gas meter change
