Is this really a prank call, cause i got the same call and have no idea what they are talking about.

I just received a call from this # stating it was for theft.  I don't have a clue.  Ladies name was Robbie Moore.  It sounded like she was reading a script. Is this a prank call or not?

I just got a call at work from this number. They advised me that they were taking me to court for fraud and deception because I couldn't pay back the pay day loan that I took out for $200.00
They said that they were calling from a lawyers office by the name of Lombardo, Sutherland & Myer in Hollywood, FL. I cannot find this lawyer listed anywhere online and this number doesn't come up either.

The Same EXACT thing just happened to me they gave me a case # and said the same law firm. I also cannot find them listed anywhere. they called me from 954-251-0304    I told them there is no law firm listed by that name and then they said they are the mediator!!!!!   They are telling me I owe $600.00

Recieved a call telling me that they had 2 accounts with my SS# and if I did not settle this they would show up at my home or my place of work. Call number and was put on hold for 10 minutes.

For a while there I was getting a call from an Amanda Adams with this law firm. I called back and someone else answered and I asked if they were a collection agency, the girl said they were. I told her that they are not to call me or my work ever again and they can verify debt via mail. Well they have called me since still claiming the be the law firm but now it is an automated message and now they have a "docket" number attached to my name. Under the FDCPA they are not allowed to represent themselves as a law firm so I've reported them. I suggest all of you do the same.

I got the same all each of you did from the same law firm, giving me a docket number too.  I too had a pay day loan that I could not pay back and I am sure that is where they are calling from because I purposely gave them a specific number and they are calling from that number.

Dear Annoyed:  How can I go about reporting them?  When I read your blog, I was like, "That's right!  They cannot falsely represent themselves as a law firm."....the call I got today said they were filing papers at my place of employment on September 13th.....Well, today is September 16th - she was reading an outdated script I think.

i just got this phone call from a 'law office' and were looking for someone with my name.  well, i never took out a payday loan and didn't even know anything about them.  how did they get my name and number?  my SS # doesn't match with the last 4 that they claimed mine to be, so i think i am o.k. and they don't have any other info about me.  and never will.  i've been reading up on them after i talked to them and they just suck it seems.

I received a voicemail message concerning a deadbeat ex-son-in-law from the well-publicized Amanda Adams. I could care less if they take him to court or throw him underneath any jail they choose. How they got my telephone number in relation to him is a mystery, unless the deadbeat thought he was being cute and gave it them as an alternate number to contact him. If these fools contact me again or try any of these childish, churlish tactics, then they will find that it pays to know the party on the other end of the phone. When you try to run a bluff, a pair of deuces never beats an ace-high straight.

I just received 2 calls on my cell phone and 1 at work back to back.  He said his name was David Long.  Same story, different name.  I've already reported the so-called law firm to the FTC several weeks ago.  They claim I owe money but can never seem to provide anything in writing.  Yes I owe a payday loan but I'm not going to pay a guy named "David Long" with a foreign accent.  How stupid do they think we are?????

i keep getting phone calls from these people as well and hey keep telling me i owe $500 dollars when i asked why i was not contacted via mail they said and i quote "That's not how our business is run" are you kidding me at that point i could not contain my laughter...

I have received calls from this number stating that I owed a payday loan which was originally for $250, I settled this loan last summer and now they are stating that I still owe $500. They call me at work telling my manager that there are charges against me. They are not an attorney's office, they are the mediators, that's what Amanda Adams says. They are breaking the law by telling my manager this info. Also, they have been told not to contact my job anymore, but they call everyday. My manager just tells them that I'm not there. Will someone tell me what to do. I wish that I can sue the h_ll out of them.

They Called me this afternoon at work and home, both times claiming the exact same story, that i am going to be sued for theft and deception or some such and this will get my license suspended for 12 - 18 months and that i have like 48 hours to call him back.

Same here! They left a detailed message about my friend's payday loan and charges against him. So I called back, but was disconnected. They called back from 954-251-0302 and the guy ("Jeff Fort") gave me the whole thing about fraud and theft by deception charges being filed against my friend's social security number. He told me everything about my friend's "case", which I then said is against the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. He said he's not a debt collector, it's a law firm, and this is the message the loan company wants to give my friend before the paperwork is filed. When I asked for the law firm's license number, he hung up on me! I'm reporting it all to the FTC and Attorney General!

Under the Fair Debt Collections Act sections 805,806 and 807...they cannot call your employer once you tell them not to....they cannot threaten you....they cannot call incessantly.
Send them a note telling them to a) not contact you AT ALL via telephone and b) request a Debt Validation letter and c) not to contact ANY 3rd party in relation to whatever it is they are calling about.

This will shut them up.

As these appear to relate to PAYDAY Loans - also contact YOUR state Attorney General.  16 states have banned payday loans and EACH state has its own RULES about collection on those loans.
