This 800 number is used by a MagicJack voip number, a criminal who alternatively claims to be from Customer Service of Southern California Edison ()the "disconnection team") or, more recently, from the Drug Enforcement Afministration (the DEA) advising his victims that they are being fined for researching or buying pharmaceuticals over the internet, and must immediately pay a "fine" of hundreds of dollars by debit card or moneygram to stave off further investigation or prosecution. (When he claims to be from Edison Co, he demands many hundreds of dollars for alleged delinquent utility bills or else his department will disconnect all electric service within hours). According to online research AND according to conversations I have had with the Edison Comapny fraud investigators, some people ACTUALLY BELIEVE THIS nudnick's threats and send hundreds of dollars by wire to keep their electricity from being turned off.  Sadly, sopme people appear to way too timid, gullible, or not educated enough to recognize a scam.
HE MUST BE FOUND, STOPPED, PROSECUTED AND JAILED.
I have reported him to the Edison Co in California and am cooperating with law enforcement as time permits. DO NOT BE VICTIMIZED BY THIS CRIMINAL.
