People.  HERE'S HOW TO MAKE IT STOP!

If you are a GMAC Mortgage holder, call Customer Service at 1-800-766-4622.  Tell the service rep that you want them to cease and desist from ALL advertising contact.  You will have to give your mortgage ID, address and phone number.  They will issue a work order and the calls should stop in approximately 3 - 4 days.

The call is done by machine.  If you answer...and wait...it then hangs up on you...EVERY time....if you call back...it goes no where.  The caller ID is illegally NOT showing GMAC as the text.

GMAC denies that it is their number. Their Home warranty insurance denies that it is theirs, their accidental death insurance denies that it is theirs.

 THEN    the insurance lady conference called me with the robot calling number above....and I was able to type in my home phone number and it promises to remove me from all GMAC sales calls....Which is NOT really what I wanted...I STILL do not mind getting MORTGAGE offers....it's the insurance robo calls with no one at the other end one an hour from 9 am to 5pm I wanted stopped only... ::sigh:: to top it off...I ALREADY HAVE GMAC's insurance!!    So anyway....30 days from now...or 240 800 incoming calls from now..in theory..they will stop.  I mentioned that I AM ON the donotcall.gov list, but was told GMAC does not have to use that now that it is part of the government.

They call the home and when the person they want to speak with isn't home and you ask to take a message, they just hang up on you.  WOW!!!  This is how they want to earn business and confidence?  I wouldn't place my confidence or my money in a company who just mass markets and could care less about respecting my home or money.

I have completely opted out of their marketing lists and the ONLY reason they have my info in the first place is because our original mortgage company sold us.

We have been getting the same calls at the same time every day.  Since the mortgage is in the name of my spouse their constant requests to speak only to my spouse became suspicious.  Today I Googled the number and found this information at this site.  

Our mortgage is indeed with GMAC so I called them and after my spouse confirmed that I may speak with GMAC on behalf of the account I had them remove us.  They said it would take two business days.

My phone rings several times a day with a call from this toll free number.  I am a Sr. and am sick and tired of getting up to see who is calling or them awakening me from a nap!!

I think I just ooped out and the Privacy # is 1-800-401-4622 instead of the # posted above.  We shall see if it works. :)

They call and call several times in a row.  They call well into the night and early morning.  Does anyon know how I can block this number
