Ron Edwards called and said he was from NCR and he had received some papers  with  my  name   and SS #. Case #29215. He stated  that several notices were sent to my residence (not). The phone# he left is 800-931-8619.

got the same call. ron edwards from ncr with a case number. he left a VM. gave me my moms name and said please call him back. sounds like a scam

Received calls from stating they are with NCR, and stating he is Ron Edwards.  Uses threatening tone of voice to imply you are going to be served with court papers and they have sealed documents.   This is a scam and illegal scare tactic method.  A real service processor is not going to notify you are coming, because you could avoid them.  Also process by certified mail is acceptable in most states... I reported to my state's attorneys office.   The FDCPA states a debt collector can not threaten, where no suit is intended, e.g. a collector requested "settlement prior to possible legal action" where the collection agency had no authority to sue, or to retain counsel. This action was held to be deceptive and violation of the FDCPA by a federal court in Connecticut.

I just received the same thing on my personal voicemail. It is a scam. They have really screwed themselves with their voice message because I am an attorney with the State's Attorney Office. They are now on our radar and an investigation has been opened.

Before I go ahead and stop bye your home or your work I just wanted to give you a courtesy call and inform me that you are going on my schedule for service. If you or your attorney have any questions you need to contact the claimant directly their phone number is 8009318619 when calling them please refer to your case number 41890. But unless I hear differently (my first name) I will be out to serve you in the next 24-48 hours again have a valid ID and govern yourself accordingly. IF ANYONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PLEASE REPLY IVE DONE NOTHING TO DESERVE TO BE SERVED

I just got a call and he was rude he wanted my card info is this a scam?

This number called our home and said his name was Gregory Hines  using a cellphone - 682-276-2778. He left  a message for my deceased father stating case#, etc. and gave the last four digits of a SS# which was incorrect.  Do not fall for this scam!!!

Called stating I had notices from some "unnamed client" and I need to have 2 forms of ID on me at home and work to be served and that they will notify my employer before coming on property. Obviously a scam. Still a week later and I haven't been "served" or what not haha

Please read BigA's & CWG40's excellent posts - then block this LIAR who has made illegal threats.  The "have an ID" "govern yourself accordingly" are typical scammer comments.

Same message as listed in other posts, with the exception of the name.  This guy said he was Dave Stevens.  I ignored him.

I got the same call 3 times.  Did he show up for you?

He said the same exact thing to me , i answered and hung up 30 times he called back every second ! He also calls on 510-992-6344

I just received the same call. His name he stated was Dave Stevens and that they will be at my house on Monday between 12 and 5 and to have two forms of ID

It's a scam. See the posts from BigA and CGW40 above. No process server is going to call in advance and give you the chance to avoid them.
