- BrendanDon't call this number!
This is a number used by fraudsters claiming to be United Airlines. It appeared with a fraudulent charge on my credit card after it was apparently stolen. If you call the number to inquire about the charge, they claim to be United, but then I got a $15 charge on my phone bill for the call! Both charges were reversed by the companies involved, but still... what a hassle.- Call type: Prank
- tom2154| 6 repliesThis is NOT a scam number. When print your boarding pass ON LINE for United Airlines & you check a bag ($25 charge per bag) this is the number that appears on your credit card statement as the charge for checking your bag. This is a billing company and in my case it was for United Airlines but other airlines may use the same company to collect the fee. Showed up on my on-line Chase account just a few minutes after I paid for the bag ON LINE.

- William replies to tom2154| 3 repliesThat means the number never calls anyone ?
"This is a billing company ..." but you did not give the name of the billing company ?
Your post is confusing. Why is the charge for checking your bag separated from the charge for your flight ? - frequent flyer replies to William| 2 repliesIf an airline charges you a checked bag fee, in my experience it is always done as a separate charge. You pay for the flight usually well in advance. You pay the checked bag fee usually at the airport upon check in, once you know how many bags you are checking and therefore paying for.
Now as for the legitimacy of this number, that's a separate issue. It may very well be the number associated with payment for checked bag fees, but if people start reporting calls from this number, the number might then be being spoofed by scammers. - Martin S.This number 800-932-2732 appeared on my visa statement for March, 2017. Only thing noted was "UNITED" and the number originated from TX for Texas. The billing was for $3.99! The last airline we traveled on was united airlines back in December, 2016. Our checkin luggage was already paid as was some incidentals purchased in flight. This amount is not related and the charge is not timely even if it was lagit. We will challenge it with our Visa. Some scammers will charge just $1.00 as a test.
- FBAThis number 8009322732 appeared on my Citi credit card on 05/12/2018 with a charge of $897 Merchant was United Airlines. I have not used United airlines in years and the last time I travelled was two years ago. This is Scam and I'm definitely disputing this. I didn't even bother to call the number.

- Marge replies to frequent flyer| 1 replyI thought it was a scam also but then realized I did make a seat change with United for a better seat and it was for the amount on my bill. So it was United Airlines
- B-Edwards replies to MargeIt is misleading to imply that if this number shows in your caller ID that the calls are always legit. I have a feeling that shills have been in this thread to confuse people. I would be very cautious about calls from this number.
- BriGot charged 300$ from this number that showed up on my credit card statement. Scam charge had to close my credit card and open a new one.

- bcid says "Cont Airlines" I HAVE NEVER FLOWN!!!
- David replies to tom2154| 1 replyI concur with Tom. This is not a scam. I did book a Flight on Unites Airlines through Expedia. As expected, the charge for thew flight (not baggage) appeared on my Visa statement. There was a long number on the statement ending in ...040800-932-2732 TX.. Below that, on my Visa statement, was my name, departure date, and the outbound and return flight numbers as they appear on my e-mail conformation. I have not called that number and neither has anyone called me from that number - possibly because I am bot checking any bags.
