- LauraGot a call from a woman claming to be from "Canon Warehouse" regarding our photocopy machine. She said she needed to update our office information in order to send us a safety manual for our copy machine. I was quite short with her and told her that we continually get calls from solicitors claiming to be calling about our photocopy machine. I told her it was deceitful and to please take me office their calling list. Then I hung up. She must have been really angry because she had the nerve to call me back to say that I need to call 1-800-932-7318 and tell them I refused her call. She also said if I have a problem with my copy machine it's all on me and I will have to deal with it alone. I then called the company we lease our machine through and he told me it was all a scam. These people sell company information to other solicitors.

- barristerThe way the phone number works is bell canada has a database which they sell to companies for marketing and sales and other reasons.
its why when bell calls you asking you first your name and address confirmation to try to sell you services, they are not only selling their services to you, they verifying your name address and phone number so they can put it on their database to sell to marketing companies. its also how you end up on the 411 database on the internet. its what alot of these charities and also marketing companies do also, they accumulate a database of peoples names numbers and addresses and sell em off.
most of those charities in my opinion are scams also, because most of them give 10 percent or less of what they collect to the actual cause, using 90 percent for their wages and pensions and marketing purposes. The best charities give 25 percent like red cross. Everyone gets a high wage and excellent pension plans at those charities and they hold alot of marketing money raising functions with the rest.
Childrens network in north america gives 1 percent back to the terminally ill kids they collect for. And the free trips and toys are donated from companies.
Even look at Japans Tsunami relief they took from the public through donations, they used 30 million to outfit their whaling ships instead of building homes and other infrastructure.
But charities is another issue altogether.
as for outstanding loans or credits that are overdue
depends on location
but statute of limitations in ontario is 2 years, after that the creditor writes it off and claims it on insurance.
then they try to get the collection agencies who buy accounts on commission to try to collect as bonus.
bascially you are getting a collection agency trying to collect for their commission or cut of the payment owed which the bank or creditor has already claimed on insurance.
and these agencies will try to intimidate or threaten you to make some kind of payment to reset that 2 year limitation if you havent payed in 2 years so you reset the clock. What this means is if you make a payment it resets the clock and they can if they want take you to court. if its over that 2 years limit they cannot.
on student loans if you have been out of school 7 years without having enrolled in class since then, and you are encountering difficulties you can file for bankrupcy with student loans.
always consider your options, sometimes its better to declare bankrupcy if you really struggling or out of work. if you are behind payments a while your credit is probably shot anyways, and if you have no or limited income it will likely take you more than 6 years to pay it off before you start rebuilding your credit again depending on how many outstanding accounts you have.
if you declare bankrucpy your credit is shot for 6 years, and you cant get loans, but after 6 years you can start to rebuild. but in that time you also have no outstanding debts and also have peace of mind from no harrassing phone calls.
so always look at your options and think about what is best for you in that 6 year period. - TommyI got a call from the number today. They seems to try to get my name firstly to obtain my bank info. when I get any unknown call, I'm always saying "Hello" only. woman keeps saying Hi,, hello... and waiting my first name. after several back and forth, she tells me strange name and trying to get my name and didn't tell her name and company also. I tell her it is not the person and hang up and register spam call in my android app.
- Caller: unknown.
- BilalamaI keep on getting a call from this number almost every day now. Always a recorded message, supposedly from a "D. Stefnitzki, manager as Total Credit Recovery." Allegedly they are calling me on behalf of TD Canada, claiming that my account had been forwarded to them. They do not ask for a specific name or a file number of account info, clearly a prerecorded call. Need I say it--I don't have an account with TD Canada.
Clearly, these are not the business manners of a serious company. While I am tempted to call them back to find out whom they are trying to reach (and tell them to knock it off) hell would have to freeze over before I give them my name, address or (God forbid!) SIN. I hope that no one else does.- Caller: Total Credit Recovery

- Jasmine| 1 replyit's CBV collection and works with various companies like Rogers cable. This company is known as a spy almost.... spying on people and using tricky dark scaring tactics to make people's life miserable. They use all kinds of spoofing and real numbers to trick you: Their numbers may include: (800) 932-9022 / +266696687 / (613) 917-4312 / and also from area code 604, etc. Watch-out for these people.
I know so many people are frustrated with Rogers and CBV collections company and (GOING PUBLIC) is the only way to beat these devils.- Caller: CBV Collections - Rogers
