I do not have Union Bank. They called me at 9:20 PM and hung up when I said hello. A legit business, a BANK for that matter, is not calling me at 9:20 at night and hanging up if there was a problem. Again I state--I don not have UNION BANK

I got a call today saying it was Union Bank Fraud.  I didn't give them any info.  I also didn't call the number they gave me because that could be a fraud number as well just sitting waiting for you to call.  Instead, I called my local branch and asked them.  They said that the fraud department did in fact call me and to call the number they gave me.  Don't ever believe what you read!  Call your local bank and find out for yourself!

OK this is a very legitimate and serious number ( 800-941-8492 ) for the Fraud Department of Union Bank of California.

I called my local branch and spoke to the manager and she looked up and verified that the number is in fact valid.

Good thing that I called, they stopped three fraudulent charges to my account totaling over $8,000.00. Sure happy for their diligence.

You can trust this number but if in doubt call your local Union Bank branch and have them give you the number as verification.

I got the call, they left a message asking me to call them back to confirm if fraud had accured. I quickly logged onto Union Bank website and saw that someone was spending my money at some casino in Rhode Island. I called back, they asked for my phone number, confirmed what the fraudulent purchases were, and closed my card.

I have no idea why people are saying this is a scam. Do they think this is funny? I do wish that Union Bank did just tell their customers what number to expect these calls from. That way I could assign an even louder ringtone to them, and there would be no confusion like this.

Received a msg from 858-457-6000 telling me to call 800-941-8492 re fraud on my debit card.  Called, and they wanted personal info so I declined.  Called UB customer line and was transferred to fraud dept.  They confirmed that 800-941-8492 is their phone line.  HOWEVER, UB seemed to think that me spending $92 at the same grocery store where I shop every single effing Saturday was suspicious as well as the $17 I spent at the Walmart one mile from my home.  I'm all for fraud protection but what???

What a mess. Union Bank's fraud dept. should change their number. On digit off landed me in a “Hey baby, wanna party?” line. They freeze your card and if you don't answer their call or call back if (as in my case where someone took a message from them) you're screwed until the bank opens the next day. It would be nice if they had an automated call that would keep trying until the cardholder is reached.

Got a call from 800-941-8492 yesterday, 9/30/18, informing me that there was suspicious activity on my card, and that my card was frozen. When I asked what those chgs were, he asked for my birthdate and last 4 of my SSN. I told him I wasn't comfortable providing that info, was there a number that I could call, and he gave me the # listed above. I called that number, got the same guy, with the same questions, so tried calling the 800 # on the back of my card, but they're CLOSED on Sundays!! I then went to a store to use my card to double check the "frozen" claim, where I discovered that it WAS in fact frozen. I had to wait till today to call customer service to rectify the problem, where I found out that someone had in fact tried to make purchases with my card.
Union Bank needs to revamp the way they contact customers about their cards, as the way they do it NOW comes across as a scam.

It was Union Bank. I called the number on my card instead but someone had tried to verify my card number to withdraw funds in Wisconsin, I'm in California.

This is a correct number for Union Bank fraud dept.

I got a call from this number at 8:35 in the evening, sounded fishy, will call the banks main number in AM to verify before calling  back.

Today, June 27, 2022, they left a message claiming fraud activities associated with my debit card to call back this 1 800 941 8492 . Since Im aware of numerous scams from India, Jamaica, Nigeria etc ...NEVER, i repeat NEVER call these type of call back. Instead, I went online to check my bank activities and search for any suspecting fraudulent activities...none. Called the number on the bank of my card (instead) and spoke to the rep and was told there are NO recorded calls from my bank to me. Fraud department also does NOT have any 800 941 8492 associated with the bank. Blocked this number and end of story. This is a "phishing scam" that their game is for you to call back and give your account number and including you PIN (so they can verify the fraud) when they themselves will be commiting the fraud itself.
