Tried to call my grandfather and scam him out of $2,000.00. They impersonated me and told him I had been arrested and he needed to send bail money to an international location.

Said he was my Canadian nephew  sounded bad cause he was sick and in jail.  The jailer said I could send the $3000 via an int'l system.  Gave me this phone no.  Then lost the connection.

Scammer named "Officer James" called grandpa and said I (or just "grandson" maybe?) was in jail in Canada for drug related charges. Wanted $2000 for "bail". Luckily grandpa called me right after that and I informed him I was not in jail nor in Canada and that this was a scam.

received call from crying "grandson" saying he was in jail and needed bond.  Then transferred to Officer Hill who called me back with instructions to go by gift cards and then call with the number- this arrangement to keep grandson with being charged with additional charges. Unable to reach grandson so Looked up the supposed attorney to find no one in my town with that name.  tried to call back number left for me and no one answered.   very clever these guys.
