I got the same text.  I was suspicious.  So, I called USAA directly and handled it from there.  And yes, there was suspicious activity on my account ... fraud.

Yes, I received a VM saying to call this number that there was fraudulent activity on my account. Indeed there was and this was a line to USAA. It initially takes you through the original USAA phone tree before you get to the fraud dept.

I also received a text about fraudulent activity but didn't recognize the number.  So I called one of USAA's main numbers and was transferred.  There was in fact a fraudelent charge on my account.

I recieved a text from this number saying there was suspicious activity. I emailed USAA  about the text message i recieved and this is their response...Its a SCAM. Shortly after i recieved this text there was an attempt to make fradulent charges on my account. I do not know where the above people are getting their information but below is what USAA, the company itself, has to say. Enjoy

This is a real number, do not take it lightly, it is USAA!  We had a voicemail on the house phone to call and they told us about someone charging $3.09 to our account and then tried to take three different charges of over $300 for airline tickets.  Some criminal will probably read this and try to use it.  When in doubt, take the number down and call USAA, ask for the fraud department and they will verify the fraudulent charges.

This is a legitimate number for USAA's fraud department.  I received a text about fraudulent activity on my account and discovered someone had made $300 worth of charges to my account.  Called them back at that number and the issue was quickly resolved.

I just received a text from this number as well and I did call it as well as followed up by calling the number on USAA's website.  The person I spoke to from the number off the website did verify that this is a valid number for their fraud department and actually went over the same information that I did from that number in question.

This number is a legit USAA fraud alert. Don't ignore it - I called their main number and contacted the fraud department and there had been a legitimate fraudulent charge made on my debit card. They were able to freeze the account, reverse the fraudulent charge and send me a new card with new numbers.

Yep this is a real number. I got the text and then a couple of minutes got a call from them too. Come to find out someone went on a shopping spree in walmart. Luckily it was declined and I saved $400. If you don't want to call the number they will probably call you anyways, or you can call their main number and get to their fraud department. Hope this helps someone.

I too was skeptical but it was USAA fraud!  There was activity on my account from London...USAA denied the charges and put a hold on my account....saved me almost 400 bucks if not more!

USAA Rocks!  I also called in to the main line and got connected to the Fraud department.  Thank goodness the sucker that tried to use my account at home depot tried to charge over $1000 bucks and the charge was denied on the spot...

    Gotta love USAA!!!

1-800-951-4539 and 800-292-8995 are fraud number. they send me a text with suspicious activity on my debt card but asked for everything related to the credit card to confirm information.  i went to the usaa website and they looked at my accounts and nobody from the fraud department contacted me.  If this happens to you immediately closed your credit card, and you will be issue a new card number within 2 days.  dont give time to these people to charge your card.  Im sure they read this comments too, so take actions immediately through the main number at the USAA web or on your card.
