I called them after getting their number from 800-555-1212 for Progressive Insurance, and they told me there was new information about the number I was looking for, and if I wanted the number sent to me in a text, I should press any key.  At first I hung up, but after re-checking the number with 800-555-1212, I called back and pressed 1.  They then told me to say Yes after the beep.  At this point I hung up immediately.  I then received a text message from them saying "Reply Y now to get info on the # you are trying to reach."  Then in a separate paragraph that didn't show on the original screen, "Locator Svc $9.99/ month + std msg fees for 29 lookups/month. Support/terms?  www.sms181.com"  Some sort of scan.....

Send the word STOP to that number right away. The same thing happened to me too. I sent them a text message right away to prevent unexpected charges on my cell phone bill.

I called 888-999-0564 to attempt to find out about a $19.95 charge to my credit card for the same "locator service".  While listening to their bogus recording, I received a text message the same as you and it also mentioned a $9.99 charge that would be added to my cell phone bill.   I hung up immediately and called my credit card fraud dept.  They are telling me that these charges are affiliated with classmates.com  They suggested I contact classmates.com and demand they resolve this since it was something linked with their website. Have you been successful?

I just went through the same thing-a charge to my account from this company.I have no idea how they got my account info!!!Got the same txt message.Call the bank and claim it-that's what I did.
