    On Sunday Sep 7, 2014 at 5:37 pm PDT, I missed a call from this 800 number to my cell phone (which is registered with the National Do-Not-Call Registry). It rolled to voice mail, but the recording must have started before my voice mail kicked in, because I only got a partial message. It sounded like either a machine-generated or digitally-altered woman's voice, and the recorded message said, "....ex.com. Simply log in to your account to redeem your $36. At Verizon we care about you. Thank you and have a nice day."

    I Googled the number, and it comes up as "Sabena World Airlines in Louisville, KY", so either the company scams or the caller spoofed the phone number.

    I contacted Verizon, and this 800 number is not one of theirs. The Verizon rep told me that she had heard of this before, that it is a scam, and that if you go to any website provided in the recording, that it phishes for personal and family information. Be careful!
