call was received on 1/29/2009 at 1:28 pm, pacific time. caller wanted me to verify if the 4 digits of a social security number were the last 4 digits of my own s.s. #  - I asked what this was in reference to, as I was not going to verify anything unless I knew what it was about. The lady got her supervisor and he proceeded to tell me that the information was of such a sensitive nature,that by law they needed to know if I was that person and would have to verify those numbers. I told him I would not verify unless I knew, and that by law, I was within my rights. He then said I would be marked as "an unidentified woman" and hung up.

I just returned that call, and as it turns out, this is a company called "Alled Interstate" which is a financing company. just to let all know in case you get any calls from these people.
