Called my cell. Called it back and got a recording that I reached the wrong number.

Got a call to my cell with a recorded message saying if I went to 42verizon.com  I would get a credit for $42.  I called Verizon. They said they would not send a call directing to a web site that way and said it was likely a scam.  The representative said it is not the first one like that that they have seen.

Take a look at the web site registration-
Creation Date: 16-sep-2014
Expiration Date: 16-sep-2015
It's also not registered in the US & the registrar has an 'outlook' email address. The red flags are flyin' on this one. Should you get such a call again you can do a whois (dot) com on it, or search the web for a domain search site of your choice.

I just got a call from this phone number and they left this message...go to www.46verizon.com simply login to your account to redeem your 46 dollars, at verizon we care about you, thank you, and have a nice day. (it was a computer voice). Checked out the website (thinking it had to be a scam) and my internet security alerted me it was a phishing attack scam site. So just to confirm do not give them your information whatsoever. Hope everyone stays safe from these guys!

Got a call on my cell phone and while I was looking at caller ID, my wife got a call from the same number.  Her phone is 6 digits after mine so I'm pretty sure they were making calls sequentially.  I answered and heard the message sending us to the 42verizon.com website.  Sounded odd so I just hung up and told the wife not to bother answering.
