This Susan Daily (or some similar sounding last name)calls my cell phone and leaves a prerecorded message, asking for the wrong person. The number on my caller id shows as a Southern Colorado number (719) 219-2149, but the message says to call her at 1-800-955-8722, extension 106.

I think of collectors as a pain in the neck, but I should have a lower opinion of them, because they are pests.

A lady called to speak to a person that does not live here. Stated she wanted me to give this person a message. I asked her who gave her the message and she called this person by his last name stating he wanted her to call me. She then gave me a case number, her name (Dee) and this 800 number. I called the person and he stated he does not know any Dee, or does not recognize the phone number. Next time she calls I will tell her to take my number off her list. The caller ID showed UNKNOWN CALLER...guess these people are getting smart.

A lady (Dee) called from this number and left a message on my cell phone.  She then proceded to contact my ex husband trying to get a hold of me for some reason.  I looked up the MDA on the internet and it looks like a Medical Debt Collection agency.  Not sure why they are contacting me, its my ex husband who has all the medical bills from his cancer.  Good luck to the next person.

Debt collection agency.  They call with their number blocked and leave a pre-recorded message.

Please call Susie Daily 800-955-8722 ext 106.  Hello, this important message is for "unknown". this is NOT a sales call, but regarding a personal business matter that requires your immediate attention.

Not sure WHY they called my cell phone.... apparantly trying to reach my married daughter and wanted me to give her the message to call them.....

I told them to take MY number off of their call list.

Very ,Very rude this susy daily character . I received a letter from medical debt managment, inc. from a Jay Jackson. Once i called i was put in touch with this daily character who told me to set up payments. After she got my cerd info. she acted as if she disagreed with the monthly amounts and threaten to contact their attorney if i didnt agree to her amount. can she do this ? who is her supervisor ?

Her "supervisor" trained everyone to behave badly, I suspect. You found out the hard way that you cannot trust a debt collector to adhere to a verbal agreement. Close out whatever accounts or funding sources you've given them access to.

Now return to what should be their dunning letter. It should give you 30 days to dispute and have other "mini Miranda" language. Never ask "How do I pay", but demand "Prove I owe!" Draft yourself a debt validation request and send it USPS Certified with return card. The FTC and many consumer watchdogs explain more. Simpler is better .. identify the account, say something like "I dispute, please validate" and either "all phone calls are inconvenient" or "calls are convenient only to this number on these days and hours".

All this is to invoke your rights as an alleged debtor. A "very rude" rep could be considered abusive, and that jerking you around over a payment plan sounds deceptive. The lawsuit threat is another count against them. These and other illegal tactics are worth a statutory payout if you document everything and build a good case.

Now for your homework, I leave you with my collections topic boilerplate:

If you are receiving repeated, misdirected, and/or abusive calls from a third party debt collector, you may find relief in the provisions of the FDCPA, the federal law which regulates collector behavior and provides you simple tools for your own defense. It grants you control of how you are contacted, the right to dispute debt claims, and the means to sue at low cost. Learn your rights and first response tactics at FTC-dot-gov. See also your state laws for additional support.

I got a call from an unknown #. I answered the call but just got a recording instructing me to contact a Dee Harris at 800-955-8722 ext 100. It said it was not a prank call but a matter of financial importance. I had no idea who or what that was about so I looked it up on goggle. That number showed a history of abuse. That is why I'm writing this.

Your caller does not maintain this site or this web page. You will not get compliance with your orders until you deliver them DIRECTLY to your caller. It is unwise to publish a phone number you meant to protect in an open forum where any data harvester and scammer can find it.

You blasted right past my comment from seven months ago which points you to official-type guidance with your extremely common problem. READ BEFORE YOU POST!

John C called several times about a medical bill my step son supposedly has.  He could not verify any address only had a phone number - mine.  He said I signed the bill as responsible - a lie, as I was not at the hospital at the time of the visit. Step son called him and was informed he owed several thousand dollars and rudely demanded payment immediately.  He did not give him any information and then contacted the hospital.  They have never heard of nor do they use this debt collector.  The outstanding bill is $38.12 per the hospitals' sccounting department.  Sounds like somebody is confused.
