- ADAM W.| 3 repliesThis number has not called me, but was reported with a hard inquiry on my credit report. It says Chase, Im assuming the bank, but have no recollection of applying for credit, going to a branch to open a checking account, or received a pre-approval for a loan.
I looked into this more, from doing a little research on this number, most sites are reporting this number is associated with First USA, I have no idea who they are. Damn laws can not protect us consumers- Caller: Conflicting information
- Travis replies to ADAM W.I used to work for FirstUSA. This is the generic number for credit card services. FirstUSA was bought 4 years ago by Chase Bank, then Chase was bought by JP Morgan. You may have had a credit inquiry either an offer sent to you or you applied for a card FUSA/Chase/JPMorgan offers. They handle hundreds of card types. Everything from United Mileage Plus Visa/Mastercard to the Hello Kitty card,

But this definetely has to deal with a credit card. You can call and them to look you up. They'll ask for you SSN. Don't worry... the advisor doesn't care and it's only used to see if there are any accounts associated with your SSN. If they see an account then there's your answer. If they don't see an account then they'll opt you out of any future offers.. This is the legit number for Chase card services. I was an advisor for them and repeated this number thousands of times. I'll never forget it. - Really! replies to TravisI would never give anyone my ssn# so they can see if maybe, possibly I have an old account with them. Are you crazy! Who cares if you use to work for them...
- Frustrated and exhaustedsomeone calls us from this number. He threatens my family, called my daughter and made it seem like something had happened to me, he wouldnt tell her anything unless she verified our address, she finally just hung up and called me herself. He then called my son, thinking he was my husband, threatening him that they were coming to arrest me. My son asked who he was and this guy hung up. He finally calls my husband and tells him that a warrant for my arrest was coming and they wanted to verify our address for delivery. My husband asked what for, the guy (Peter) told him it didnt matter, he just needed the address. My husband , said if you have a warrant, then you already have all of her information. This guy said that's whats wrong with "You people!" called him [***] and hung, then proceeded to call back 6-7 times over and over again because we wouldnt answer the phone. He finally called my job and told my manager that I was a deadbeat debtor and that I should be fired. My manager asked him for his name, he told my manager that it was none of his business. Now I have our company blocking all his when he tries to call me a work. I call the number that shows up on our caller ID and it just rings and rings and rings. How can I stop this guys from calling!

- BettyI got a call from a company wanting to give me 0% interest and said they were giving me a Chase Visa card and that chase's number was 800-955-9900., Obviously it was a scam to try to get my personal information. The number they called from was 410-980-2338
- Caller: visa card
- WillyCaller ID was Capital One. I do have a card with that company, but they have no reason to call me. Furthermore, the number is not one of their phone numbers listed on their contact information. I imagine this was spam.
