- HateScammers| 1 replyPost card from Southwest Getaways with this number to call - offering items and discounts and a note that it has nothing to do with Southwest or any other hotel or carrier even though all the logo's are on the postcard
- Lisa replies to HateScammersI got it too. Same post card.
- MikeHuntleton| 6 repliesThis number is to Bethesda University, so it makes no sense for a post card to have it as the call back number unless it is an offer from the University to students/families.
Strange neither of the previous posts saw the name in a web search of the number before coming here to post about post cards. - Rufus replies to MikeHuntleton| 5 repliesNot strange at all. It's a 800 numer and this is 800 notes, plus the whole card just screams SCAM: lure of free stuff like airline ticket vouchers, airplane that vaguely suggests the colors of a Southwest plane, an android 7in tablet and $500 bait which can be switched to a $100 visa card by the unnamed real sponsor....
- BigA replies to Rufus| 1 reply800notes.com is a phone number lookup website. Not a "junk mail" lookup website. Note the key words are "phone number" and "junk mail". Those have different definitions where I come from. Most people of marginal intelligence know that when they get junk mail they simply throw it away or put it in the recycling bin. Not really a hard concept to grasp and no reason to have to look it up to find out what to do with it.
- Tygerkat replies to RufusSo you got this junk mail as well? Are you sure this is the phone number on it? Because Mike is correct: this is a phone number for Bethesda University. Does the post card mention the university at all?
- MikeHuntleton replies to Rufus
Yes, it is strange in the fact this number is to a university and a scammer wouldn't have given a number you can't reach them on, otherwise it would be a waste of time/money trying to scam people if they can't contact you. So my point was that the name of the university HAD to be somewhere on that card or displayed in the search results, but neither of those posters or you, mentioned the name...and I find that strange.Quote:Not strange at all. So I doubt it is a scam if it did in fact have this phone number on it. - Lily Lender| 1 reply800-960-4583 Beware. I called, it's not the Bethesda University. I know because I asked. Phone was not answered as southwest Getaway.
- Kat* replies to Lily LenderThen how WAS the phone answered?

- TerriUpon a little more investigating, I found it to be a travel agency that requires you to sign up for a couple of thousand dollars. Goggled trip give-away and Conn State

- Cackey replies to RufusThis is a big scam! My husband and I attended. High pressure sells to take your money. We figured it was a scam, but went to see. I have been trying to track thsese people down as we invested ZERO, but felt sorry for people who fall for this. The people putting on the presentation are scumbags and they look it, too! Please call the Attorney General's office to help put a stop to these rip off scammers~~ There is no "Southwest Getaways Anniversary"...all a lie to steal hard working people's money...
