My husband went on the Microsoft website to ask a question. It came up with "support" and of course they said he had all these problems and if he paid them $249.99 they would clean it up. It was OmniTech. He was freaked out-he thought he was talking to Microsoft. He paid them, and watched them remove his antivirus and put something else on. (He removed that & put another on). I tried to find out if this was a scam, went to all the websites like gov. and ftc., but everyone talked about getting phone calls, so I couldn't "prove" it one way or the other. He didn't get a phone call, he was on the Microsoft site. After reading numerous posts about the phone call from "microsoft" and one listed a WHOIS, I decided to check out the domain, so I looked at our credit card bill again to find the name and went on their website and found this number. Just the fact that so many of you have different "companies" with the same 800 number would raise a big flag. I know we are out of the money, but I still would like hard proof about OmniTech and their "services."

Omni Tech somehow foudnmy cell number whihc I did not provide....are these guys scdam artists?

I have received 4 calls from this # regarding omnitect computer support. in contact with omnitect no calls to us were made

We do not call outbound unless we are calling an existing customer regarding their account.

We identify who we are clearly, if he would actually call our number he would know that.

Everyone signs a service agreement which clearly identifies us.

If this person can provide us some more details like his names, contact# or email address so that we can investigate his issue and can sort this matter out, only if this person is a real customer of OmniTech to start with.

Our opening chat statement itself confirmed that we are not Microsoft. We are OmniTech Support, an independent global Tech Support organization which has been running successfully with pride and passion more than 12+ years. Our technicians are trained and certified to work on Microsoft products in addition to working on other software, networking, setup, registry and virus issues. Because we are a large top-ten support organization, if he did a Google search for a Microsoft-related issue, our information would appear fairly high-up on the page.  

This complaint is totally without merit and we can prove it as we record every word, every keystroke of our interaction with customers.  OmniTech Support has no contractual agreement with Microsoft. We neither claim to be Microsoft nor tell anyone we are. Our company name is very prominent on our website and we greet all customers identifying us as OmniTech Support. We are certified to work on Microsoft products, but that doesn’t make us Microsoft any more than a local car repair shop that fixes Fords is Ford Motor Company.

If this person can provide us some more details like his customer ID # (provided when signing up with us), date of contact or email address, then we would be happy to investigate this case further and can say, what was actually, if anything, transpired. However, we can prove that no malware or virus was ever injected to his computer.

We request this person to get back to us so that we can investigate his issue and can sort this matter out, only if this person is a real customer of OmniTech to start with.

E Mail is not working

my wife used omni tech service as a one time deal.  keeps getting calls from ppl claiming to be omnitech wanting to "resolve reported computer issues".  when she tells them no they become aggressive. now are just harassing. called omni tech who denies calling.  But how did some other "person" get our phone #, and how do they know we used Omni tech? Did Omni have a security breach which they did not inform its customers of, or do they sell customer info?

these people are very foriegn, and they create busines scame platforms about your computer. they will tell you that they are with Microsoft....THAT IS NOT TRUE!!!! -i MADE A CALL TO "AOL" AND GOT A BAD REPORT FROM THE CALLER (1-800-966-9940).
  BE WARE, STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS. THEY WANT TO CHARGE YOU $99.00 TO $300.00 FOR ----NOTHING---DO NOT USE THEY!!!!

these idiots called me form this number they said they are omnitech support i dont even know what that means asking me $249.99 USD all i know is this is scam they try to steal money from me

Starting Dec 15, I've constantly received phone calls from the above number & nobody says anything! When I called it back, it's says omnitech. What is it

I received a call earlier today but didn't get to answer it in time.  They called back again asking me to turn on my computer and click on remote access because a "hacker" was into my computer.  I could not understand most of what he was saying and I finally hung up. I asked him where he was calling from and he said "why should I tell you that" so I hung up.

I had ordered Omnitech approx 1 1/2 years ago and can not afford it.  I am continuing to get harrassing phone callers telling me that my computer is being hacked and i better listen to him (Indian and can hardly understand him.  Fast talker and there is no way i want his calls again; ever.  These calls are harrassing and I will go to higher athorities if it does not stop

I would be very wary of this company.  There is no physical address listed on the contact page, only phone and a form.  A whois search on the domain name reveals that it is concealed by a privacy service.  On top of that, they claim they are BBB accredited, but I can find no listing for them on the BBB.  The fact that they want to remotely access your computer is a real problem for me, especially since they want to do it at night when you are not around to watch what they are doing.
The phone calls you are receiving  sound more like the Microsoft Tech Support scam that is rampant right now.  Do not under any circumstances fall for their story or allow them access to your computer.
