- Drops| 1 replyI received a call from this company to collect a debt from someone who lives on my street. They did not ask for money but FTC said that’s the only way they can legally call. I was on the phone with the FTC for 30mins and was explained they legally can call whoever they want to collect a debt. So if they ‘get’ your number somehow and your neighbor owes them money they will call YOU!!

- swextreme| 1 replyI am in the process of selling my home and this company actually called the realtor to ask how much we were selling for and why we were selling, and told the realor i was behind in one payment. Isn't this information suppose to be confidential?

- KRONOS1 replies to swextremeyou had to had signed an "ok to talk to" form for the realtor
more than likely he (the realtor) asked for your account status (they are required to) - Guy who's mortgaged through VanderbiltThe company is Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, they finance mobile homes for the most part. They are very polite and friendly with everyone they call. They do not cold call numbers if they called your number it was because someone either put your number down, they misdialed, or someone had your number before. They only call to talk to those who are behind on their trailer mortgages. And they can speak to any realtors on behalf of your home if you are in debt and trying to sell it since they hold the lein on the home and have the final say on who can sell their home. Don't be afraid of them either, I went through most of 2006 & 2007 with being behind on my mortgage with them and having them call me frequently looking for their monies which I did owe but I am currently up to date on my payments so I don't need them to call me hunting me down looking for me to pay.

They called me today same phone number, looking for my neighbor because they couldn't contact him. I told them i would relay the message, but isnt this against our ammendment rights. And I know for a fact he doesnt have a mortgage anymore, so I don't know why they are bothering him, or me for that matter, Unless he is trying to sell his home. They said its a personal business matter which he should know about. Yeah right.

- ZoeJust got a call from these folks, at work, asking for my boss. He wanted to talk to him to see if he(caller) knew some of his relatives. Good grief. Caller said he could call him back or not. He was extremely polite, which is a first. I really do love this website.

- AnnI got a call on Saturday morning. She gave her first name and asked for my husband's and my name specifically like on the mortgage. Said they understand we may have been affected by the hurricane and to please call them and to understand this is an attempt to collect a debt. We do have a mortgage but we have always either paid days early or the exact due date and have never, ever been a single day late. I tried to call them back, but they said via message they were only open Mon-Thurs and to call during business hours. The automated system did confirm my payments and next due date, which is in the future and I checked my bank statements to be sure the monies have been deducted and there is absolutely NO reason for this phone call. This got me upset over nothing. Cruel.
