This is HSBC. If you have a credit card account with HSBC, they are calling to promote a service or product to you. I can't complain because HSBC gave me credit card with $4K limit just 2 years after going through a BK.
Just don't answer it.

1-800-975-4722  calls my home numerous times a day and no one is on the line.  When I pickup the call and say Hello, no one says anything and shortly they hang up.  I want the calls to my home stopped!  I will report it to the better business bureau.

They called twice today, and when the answering machine picked up, they hung up.

Caller ID said: "800 9754722 UNKNOWN CALLER"

When I called the toll free number, it is the number for HSBC Bank.

I'm on the Federal and State "Do NOT Call Lists".....so why are they calling?

I called back - without giving any numbers and eventually got to a person - asked them to take me off their marketing call phone list - fellow asked for account id, name and verifications - said he'd update their records. We'll see if that works.

They're Scammers. They'll try and get a $200.00 card activation from you and won't send you a credit card. They'll ask for your social security number, your address, your date of birth, your annual salary, your social security number and tell you you'll have a card in 10 days, just send us a check at some p.o. box for the initial card issuance fee and you'll get your card.

Most likely brokering for themselves and pocketing the money. They are totally unaware of the $17,000.00 fine for pshing, and they are totally unaware of the consequences involved in extortion. The only way they can become aware is once they are caught.

HSBC Bank. Called to verify a transaction.

Today I got call from "HSBC investigation group" guy who spoke with accent. He knows my last name, fist name, social security number. He told me that somebody right now tried take 2 thousand from my account using my debit card, and I should provide to them my pin number to stop that procedure!! He pushed me demanding the pin, otherwise, he told, they will give out money if I don’t provide the pin right now!! I told him to send me text, he did not. I was running to neary HSBC bank and with personal banker we called to HSBC investigation group (that sure is located outside of country lol), and they told me that it was scam, nobody from them did not call me in this time, and when they call to clients they never ask the pin number. They told that during last time they got a bunch of calls from their clients with the same complains...
I think HSBC employees in outside of country locations time by time sell  to bad people their clients information.

No idea who this is but obviously from an automatic dialer as they leave a partial message on answering machine which is completely in Chinese (I don’t speak Chinese or have a Chinese surname) I’ve also had several calls like this recently on my cell phone as well but all from different phone numbers

Applied for HSBC C/C a couple days ago. I received an official email from HSBC 10 hours ago stating my new card was on the way and what to do once it arrives. You know, all the official stuff expected. Then just now, I get a call from this number, and it's a foreign accent lady who says she cannot hear me, then tells me she's going to end the call and call back. About 5 minutes pass when I get another phone call and it's the same lady. She can hear me now and tells me I'm on a recorded line and I can hear the beep in the background. She tells me she's from the investigation department. She asks me if I recently applied for a HSBC credit card, to which I replied yes. She then proceeds to tell me that my account has been locked. Yet, she's very unsure of what she's saying, as if she's nervous. Then she tells me that in order to unlock the account, I would need to provide proof of address and something else (I don't remember), and that I need to confirm my email address so she can send me an email with the instructions on what I need to do to unlock my account. Yeah, not feeling the scam vibe so I hung up. About 5 minutes later the same number calls again. Not sure if scam or not, but seeing how HSBC already has my email and sent me an email telling me my card was on the way, then I'm pretty sure they can send me another email asking for proof of anything, which is odd anyway for a credit card.

I didn't answer the call but the voicemail left was to request "verification" about bitcoin transfers so they could process them. I don't have an account with them so this is an immediate red flag that they are just trying to collect info. The number shows up as HSBC Bank on caller ID, probably is spoofed, but that's how it shows up.
