email FRAUD attempt claiming to be TRANSUNION /( it was a header with Trans-Union) and pending litigation If I didn't pay approx. $500.00 owed / said call immediately/ 1-800-978-3187--direct # 678-740-5359 and BOB CHANDLER was signed as Trans-Union Advisor. I called #-Bob Chandler HUNG UP when I said am reporting to the "real" credit bureau/ I have no negative credit from legit credit bureau and did report to gov't. e spam line also

I just got an email saying the exact same things! Do I need to contact them or just ignore it? I freaked out before I read your comments

SCAM!!!! I just got a fishy email that told me I was a more than a year overdue on a service (that I had declined to purchase). It had a legit TransUnion logo on it but otherwise was unprofessional and excessively threatening. They wanted me to call the Bob Chandler at 800-978-3187 immediately to pay the overdue amount as well as a $500 collection fee... and on and on. I thought it was real at first, but, with a little online research and reading the entire letter I realized that this was not the real deal. UGH! I wish they would LEAVE ME ALONE!!! They have been harassing me over the phone too. I think I have finally blocked all their number because I haven't heard from them for awhile until today. :(

I just received 2 mails stating I owe GLOBAL TECH SOLUTIONS $451.00 and must pay within 3 days or I will be in trouble for fraud.  It states that they have tried to call me numerous times and have sent me 2 letters.  I do not recall any of this.  I called LifeLock and she asked me numerous questions.  My name is not used in the e mail.  I am called DEBT OWNER.  There is not an account # for me in the e mail.  It states later in e mail that they have my IP address and I will be located.  How did they send 2 letters if they don't have my location????  I was advised to STAY AWAY.  My concern is that I always pay my bills and do not want to be in trouble.

The lady at LifeLock advised me to not respond.  It appears to be a scam and they are trying to scare you and get more info and your $.

A staff member received the same threatening email as Lin from NC, but gave their CC#.  Thankfully the were brave enough to ask others if they'd made a mistake>>> contact their CC company, cancel that card, get it replaced and notify their ID theft company of the event and CC#s.

Since when does TransUnion, or any credit reporting agency, collect consumer debt? That would be a severe conflict of interest, yes?

The mystery collectors hope you're too stupid to notice their discrepancies. You didn't need the placebo security frauds at LifeLock to tell you what was wrong with this picture. The CFPB and FTC have been pretty clear on how genuine debt collectors are expected to behave.

I have also had, and am having, these same e-mails with the same information; dollar amounts, threats, etc.

I have received 3 e-mails similar to the one that Lin from NC and Corine received . The letters started on the 20th of January 2017. The latest letter also stated that I could pay this "debt" by purchasing $450 in Apple ITUNES cards and giving them the 16 digit alpha code on the back of the card. The letters were poorly written and threatening. All three stated that they were "Final Notices". I wish they would buy a dictionary and find out what the word "Final" means and leave me alone. I have reported my situation to my state's Attorney General Generals office as well as the FTC. They thanked me for taking the time to file the complaint but stated that as I did not actually lose any money all they would do is add my complaint to their scam data base..

This same thing happened to my 90 year old mother, also badly written and saying to get iTune cards. We have reported this.

I got same E-mail from that Bob Chandler. Said he was collecting for Call To Resolve , a computer tech company. Threatened me with fines ,incarceration, wanted additional $500 legal fees ,, etc.  Ironically I got a call from someone at Call to Resolve same day and they knew nothing about this and in fact said they owed me money as a refund. They knew no Bob Chandler!! Said I did not owe $451.00 as he claims. I am reporting to all necessary organizations about this. ! hope it gets stopped

We received the same kind of email.  They stated that we had ignored 2 previous letters that we have never received.  Stated that we could go to jail if we did not pay the money.  Strange that there was no address to send the money.  Hope they get caught.
