    got the same message. I have emailed verizon wireless to find out who sent it.  Will get back to you.

    I recieved the same message today and looked up the 800 number.
    Brought me to a website for Lenders Edge Settlement Services.

    After reading a blog I went to Verizonwireless.com and adjusted my preferences for messaging, hope it works. If it doesn't stop I will then try creating a nickname. Here is the blog.

    I received the exact same text..I contacted verizon wireless and they told me to disregard it but I am still wondering what it is all about..

    I received the same text - I called the number from a land line and it was an automated system, they asked for my "Verizon" telephone number - so I punched it in, they they asked for SSN - so I hung up.

    I can't find that number anywhere on Verizon - I'm sure this is a scam.
