received a phone call from this number today. The number that came up on caller ID was 770-480-5921 but the message said to call 800-994-2949. He said he was a private detective.

received the same call today, claiming he was a detective and found documents with my phone number on it.  And to call back immediately.  WHATEVER.  You give your name, your company, your stated reason in your voicemail and I MIGHT call you back.  I don't have time for idiots like this.  But I had to google the number.... yes, the number left to call was the 800-994-2949, and he called from 770-480-5921.  He sounded older than dirt.  I have now blocked that number from my phone.  I don't have a bad check out there or a missed payment.  I hate people that waste my time!

Then you have some joker here called Settlement something who you can bet is part of the scam. I would report them to the police and see how they like that. A bad check 16 years ago? Have they not heard of the Statute of Limitations.

What total scumbags.  But then again, what can you expect from those who collect phantom debts.

I received a letter from Emory Mullinaxe and called and spoke with MS. White.  She was Extremely RUDE and asked if I write back checks offtend.  This check was from 2009 for $19.18 and she wanted me to pay $132.00.  Yeah Right!  I told her that I have never been notified of this before and she said I was a liar!  I told her customer service skills SUCK and she laughed at me and said she has been doidn this for five years and she is good at it.  I am calling the place where I wrote this check to see if this is true.

Also Emory is not this persons name.  He is nt licensed

Slanderous False and Malicious Allocations by aledge unknown person has been posted concerning Detective Ronald Emory Mullinax P.I. The internet site allows people to post cruel, illegal, slanderous and plain lies about people and companies. Their sole goal of this site is to increase traffic to this side without proof. These sites are not a legal consumer protection service site and make claims that assist aledge unknown person to post freely.  In all fifty states there are consumer protection agencies that provide legal representation to resolve legitimate complaints. You can go to the internet and locate you secretary of state to find these agencies. I recommend not using the BBB simply because they are only a franchise and do not offer any real government connection. This entire aledge site is the one in many that operate nationally, locally and many are off shore.  As American we do have free speech but does not protect you against slander or these companies. I discovered these complaint file by accident and has sent them to The Attorney General and my Attorney for verification of identity of these screen name post for filing cease and desist and removal. What is truly interesting is that he is posting, out of the blue, a response to a three year old post.  I don’t know what would be slanderous here, I’m sitting right in front of my monitor and I haven’t heard a word of anything that would be considered slander.  I’ve even looked back through this thread and the only reference to a “Mullinax” was in a 2008 posting by Alfalfa with information about the company Encore Worldwide Financial which lists “Ronald E. Mullinax - CEO”.  That is hardly a libelous (the correct term) posting of information.  The posting by LAMENT, that “Detective Mullinax “ is responding to, does refer to his callers as “idiots” but that would hardly be considered libelous as it would just be considered an opinion and, based on his description of call history, probably a valid one.  I am thinking that maybe the presentation of the truth offends Mr. Mullinax, and he is expressing his rage in a manner that consistent with his level on intelligence (as evidenced by his apparent grasp and execution of the written English language.)

"Detective" , we've been down this road more than once, and I just checked your license again. The results turned up the same as the last several times. Expired, Lapsed, and Inactive. And please save your breath telling me they're old. They're current as of today.
