To report a pop-up window on my screen 4 hours ago

I got a warning message about a virus attack on my computer while on ShareBeast. It said to call this 800 number. The person who answered had an Indian accent and said his company was outsourced by Microsoft to handle technical support. He also warned me that my computer is infected. Beware, this is obviously a scam.

The individuals at 800 996 8348 are pretending to be Microsoft Tech Support.  My research shows that they are not,  Beware if you get a message telling you your computer has a virus and that you should call this number.  They just want money and access to your computer.

What to do when you do get this obvious phising attempt?

This is a fraudulent operation that accesses your computer remotely, mines data on your computer, and attempts to induce you to pay hundreds of dollars for computer repair services. This operation is out of India. Persons answering the phone have Indian accent.

A pop up saying my Mac computer was infected showed up on my Verizon Droid Moto. I have no Mac. Pop up wouldn't let me into any web site. Gave this number, which I thought had to be a scam. I called Verizon tech support and they said it was and showed me how to get rid of it.

I paid 149.99 to have VTech added to my computer to take away a "virus" that was on my MACBook Air . The screen popped up and said it was hacked and that I need to call the # to take the virus away . I called it and paid the money. Is my computer at risk now??

As with people above message states my computer was hacked and to call that number I.m going to erased my hard drive and reinstall the os after saving to a external h.d.
