On your credit card?  It's actually from Evenbright.  Bought tickets to an event or conference?  That's what it's for, not very descriptive but should be legit.

I also got a charge on my credit card for $10 and had no idea what it was for. When I googled the phone area code, I came across area code 801 and scams. Clicking on it I found your comment. I had totally forgotten about tickets bought on Eventbright. Thank you for taking the time to write your comment. How stupid that the charge on your statement comes through as:  801-413-7200/Vancouver Toronto.   801 is the area code for Salt Lake City, Utah !

Thanks so much, Joyce B., mine was also an even tbrite charge I had forgotten about.  Like you, I googled the number and got Utah, but after the number on my bill says CA!  They must get a lot of fraud reports!

This number is for Eventbrite; you likely bought tickets for something through their service.

Thought this was a scam, too but Forgot this was an Eventbrite ticket as I donated $10, but there was a tax/service charge of $1.30

for once, not spam -- it IS a charge for tickets purchased.  We ordered tickets for a seminar on retirement and this is how the charge appeared on the credit card, a partial name of the event and this 801 area code phone #.  I agree, the ID information on the credit card could be clearer!  But in this case - it is real and legit.  Always check on these things, though!

I saw the charges on my credit card and could not recall buying anything online.  After checking this site, it hit me that there were for some cooking classes I had signed up for.  I am going to tell the merchant that they must warn patrons that the charge will come under this company so they don't do what I did - cancel my credit card.  Once you cancel a credit card, they cannot reinstate it, so now I have the further hassle of calling all my autopay vendors to change the card #.

    Hi everyone
Useful thread. I just received a $20 chaege on my mastercard with the detail as 801-413-7200 and decided to google it. Indeed it is Eventbrite.  I paid for a luncheon online for my company's retiree AGM.  Listing the charge as Eventbrite would save us from thinking we are being scammed!
