Oh how wonderful!  My sister works for the US Embassy in West Africa.  I will ship the package to her and she can hand deliver it to your son.  If you let me know your son's Full name, Full contact Address, City, State, and Zip Code I will have her deliver it to him.  I only accept payment in diamonds, 99.999% pure gold, or space rocks.  How exciting!

I got that same exact email about my Nikon D3100 on Craigslist.

I have received the exact same message regarding an I phone 4 that I'm selling. He referred to himself as "pastor Dave." After reading all these posts, I responded back and called him out on his bogus scheme. DO NOT sell to this scammer!!

I'm in Las Vegas and sell iPad2 on craigslist. Similar email from Jamescordary200@aol.com :

This guy is texting me on his most recent number (614) 758-8310 . Saying he wants to buy my phone as a birthday gift for his son in West Africa and the nature of his job won't let him pick it up. I call [***], thanks for the warning from all of you! I wasn't going to ship it anyway.

I have a man texting me saying he is paying me upfront and then he wants me to ship to Africa has it actually worked with anyone??

the person told me that his cousin is in West Africa college and its his birthday and he wants to give him a gift.
he also offered to pay extra for shipping and all.

I happened to share my PayPal details with him, and then realized that it is a scam and asked him not to transfer money to my account.

will there be any problem for me because I shared the paypal details?????

I weighed it? Told him. I said I wouldn't take down the ad until I was paid. I have him my PayPal address and said I could shop tomorrow.

After I called him out, he never replied and I haven't seen a fake PayPal payment yet. I think all is good - I'm just embarrassed I almost fell for it.

I am in Toronto. Thanks very much to all of you who posted it here. I got a similar message from the number 7046265456 for the things that I listed on  Kijiji. Below is his texting word,
"Ok..Sounds good my son needs a replacement urgently in school , I am willing to pay $450 including the shipping to is destination,Hope this is not a scam.hope the item is still in good condition ???"
"Ok, you're mailing it to my son schooling in British college in west African and i want this mail out to him once you receive the money ...ok ...and i really need your mutual trust and i want you to be completely honest with me cuz am a good christian and God fearing man ..OK"
"Alright do you have an account with PayPal so I can transfer the money to you asap"

I didn't fall through and he stopped after I asking him for his son's exact mailing address.

Got a message from this guy or group while trying to sell some rings in Canada. Said he wanted them sent to his son in West Africa. Would pay extra for the shipping, I asked for e transfer but we wouldn't take it.

It is a scam, be warned!
I received the same messaging from a different number. The buyer requests email and full name so he can send a fake email that appears to be sent from paypal. The email states that the funds have been verified and that paypal will deposit them into your account once you respond to Transfer_agent2016@mail.com with a tracking number. Below is part of the fraudulent message you will receive:
