I am getting the same call.. no message.

Called @ 7:20pm and a recording said it was a service verification and that would call back later. What the hell is it verifying? Probably scammers, or telemarketers, well they're both the same!!

I also got a call from this number.  They didn't leave a message

Had a missed call from this number 9am today, no message. They called
back again at 5pm and I answered. They asked if I subscribed to a
certain local newspaper (which I confirmed) and then how much I paid
for my initial subscription and if it was by check or credit card.

I answered $20 by check and that was all. Could my local paper's data be
compromised? They had my name and number and knew about the subscription.
I gave them no other information. How can they use this?

I got a call from this number at 5:30pm today. They left a message that said it was service verification who are these [***]. I am glad I check my caller ID before I answer the Phone. I dont answer any call that I do not know.

Recently renewed my subscription to the StarTribune and calls started coming in from Verafast's 800 number.  Blocked it and now I'm getting calls from 801-618-2034.  I have now blocked this number too. These people are scumbags.  I'm about to call the Strib and tell them to get this to stop or I'm canceling my subscription.  Totally unacceptable.

I have gotten 2 calls from this number today.  When I answer there is no one on the line.

They are not with the Star and Tribune!  It's some kind of scam.  The attorney general is looking into it.

I have gotten at least ten calls from 801-618-2034 over the last week.  I get the same messages, that this is a "service verification" and when I call the number back it asks me to "enter my cell # to be removed from the call list."

I realized that I, too, recently subscribed to the Star Trib.  Now I'm starting to wonder if that was a good idea if they are selling my #.....

You got the call because your antivirus program and your operating system are providing no protection and no one is doing a damned thing to address this ongoing problem.  Fools called day after i received an email from a prospective employer that a verification would be done.

801-618-2034 just says verification fr. havent tried to call back.
my # is also on do not call list.

Received call on home phone.  I answered.  Woman said she wanted to verify Mrs. ____ lived here and phone number.  I stated our number is on the do-not-call list, and, by the way, who are they?  She hung up on me.

I've gotten three calls in two days from this number on my cell phone.  No messages but after reading other posts here it must be because I renewed my subscription to the Houston Chronicle.  Ticks me off to think they sold my number.

Called 2 days in a row.  I don't respond to phone numbers I don't recognize.  Hell, if it were important, the'd leave a message.  No message was left.

I did see reference here to subscription.  I did recently subscribe to a local one.  Hmmm.

Received a phone call at 7:30pm to verify service of a Houston paper. I asked if they delivered the paper because I wanted it in a different place.  Said no but did I want to pay for it now and did I want to pay by credit card.  Said I would wait until I received a bill. They had waited until the subscription desk was closed for the day. I then called my newspaper city desk to report this.
