- MichMan15| 2 repliesSandy, UT on caller ID. Left voicemail. Heavy Indian accent stating his name was Sam Martin, calling on behalf of the Treasury Department. If call is ignored it will be listed as 2nd missed contact and Federal Felony Criminal charges will be issued.
- Caller: Did Not Say
- Judy, MI| 2 repliesI just got the same message! It obviously is a scam as we know that the Dept. of Treasury is short staffed and only able to handle half the calls made last year. This is incredibly annoying ... where can I report this to?
- Caller: 801-742-7925
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Rich MIJust got the same kind of call. Said they were on their way to come arrest me.
- John P MI replies to MichMan15Got the same call. Said if I hung up there would be officers at my door in 45 minutes. So I hung up. My message was my accountant never filed correctly, I owed money, and notices have been sent out to me. My accountant would have told me, I never got anything in the mail and I was tired of being threatened so I hung up.
- Tracy| 1 replyI just got two calls from this number. I never answered, but they left a message. Very annoying.
- Debbie replies to MichMan15I just got one of those calls. Heavy accent and said his name was Steve Martin. Said to call back or I would be arrested, just like your call. I hung up.
- JB Michigan| 1 replyGlad to see other posts on this. This message was left on my answering machine from a guy with a heavy Indian accent:
Hi, this message is intended to contact you.
My name is Steve Martin,
And I’m calling regarding enforcement actions executed by US treasury (??) your serious attention.
Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense.
My number is 801 742 7925, again, 801 742 7925
I advise you to cooperate with us and help us to help you.

- jaySame here. I hate this.
- Angry| 1 replyI thought he said Dean Martin, very disturbing message. I hope they get this guy.
- Caller: They didn't say
- Everybody - Loves somebody. . . replies to Angry'. . . That little ol' wine maker me. . . '. So you got a call from 'Dean Martin'? Very cool! A quick spin around a martini glass in Vegas sounds like fun.
- A_michigan| 1 replyReceived the same message at 8 am this morning. SCAM. Message said I would go to trial before a grand jury if I I ignore this 'second and last call'. 'Grand jury' is laughable but the intent to threaten or extort is not, I am going to see if I can report this call somehow.
- SnowbirdThere are sure going to be a lot of us before this grand jury. My call in 248 exchange was at 8:43 am this morning (2-28-15). Same exact message, Indian accent, Steve Martin.

IRS does not file lawsuits. Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter. But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS has no powers of arrest. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and ask for money. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case. No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments. Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement. All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals. All contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail. - CWG40 replies to A_michiganTotal scam. Originates in either India or Pakistan.
