- Sick of the CallsMy wife received a call tonight from them. I called back, realized you could leave messages, and decided to have some fun. The first message was 3 1/2 minutes of Dr. Dre's "Nuthin' But a G Thang". Next, my wife came up with the idea to have a clap along w/ George Strait's "Deep In the Heart of Texas". On our third call, we decided to take advantage of the cat we own that just loves to meow. It's 3 1/2 minutes of him wailing away.

- Georgia ResidentThe Georgia Attorney General has also weighed in on Western Sky Financial Services.
"
At the urging of Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens’ office, Payday Financial, LLC, Green Billow, LLC and Western Sky Financial, LLC, payday lenders which claim to be Native American owned and operated, have agreed to cease making loans in Georgia. The Attorney General’s office alleges that the companies made illegal payday loans in Georgia through websites they operate. Georgia law specifically prohibits the making of payday loans, including the making of payday loans to Georgia residents through the internet (O.C.G.A. § l6-17-1, et seq).
According to the Federal Trade Commission, Martin A. Webb operates Payday Financial, LLC, and several related businesses in Timber Lake, South Dakota. The entities offer short-term, high-fee, unsecured payday loans of $300 to $2,525 to consumers throughout the country, advertising on television and through websites.
The businesses purport to be “wholly Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Member owned…operating within the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation.” Although, attorneys for Mr. Webb claim that the companies are exempt from Georgia law due to tribal (sovereign) immunity, the Attorney General’s office has made clear that when a company conducts business in Georgia, Georgia law applies.
“When it comes to payday lending in Georgia, there is no gray area. It is unquestionably illegal in any form,” said Attorney General Sam Olens. “We will not stand for unscrupulous, out-of-state lenders taking advantage of Georgia consumers by skirting our laws.”
“The Attorney General’s timely and decisive action resulted in this entity ceasing to do business in our state,” said Governor’s Office of Consumer Protection Administrator John Sours. “We are pleased that Georgia consumers will benefit and look forward to ridding our state of all such illicit operators.”- Caller: Western Sky Financial

- InformedI answered "law offices" on my cellular phone and there was nothing there at first then an automated voice saying "Hi, this is Matt." At which point I hung up. Then I did some research and here is what I have learned. I have had calls from this company before, so it was easy to recall the information. This company is actually a security alarm service based in Salt Lake City, UT. They employ very aggressive sales tactics, have been under investigation and even thrown out of the State of Louisiana. Owner: Matt Smith (Believed to be fictional, see below)
Their salesmen will bully you especially if you are elderly into a contract if they can install the system for free. The monthly bill comes from them over what you were quoted. If you try and cancel, they want a cancellation fee of $200+. Their alarm will inadvertently go off (inferior equipment) and you'll get police, fire and medical on a good day. The Idaho Attorney general has received complaints on this company and they helped in resolving a dispute between my girlfriends dad and this company. They are not rated with the SLC Better Business Bureau.

- Leah JarrellThey said they were some security company and they wanted to offer us a free security system in our house if we put a sign up in our yard. I told them we lived in an apartment so we didn't have a yard to put a sign in. He started getting frustrated with me and kept asking to speak to the home owner. I kept telling him that I was in fact the home owner and finally he just hung up on me.
