Missed call.  Have heard it's a scam pretending to be Discover card.

It's the customer service line, but i still think it's a scam, I won't pick up. No message left. Account in good standings.

SCAM.  FRAUD!!!  Fake credit card interest rate reduction scheme.  This time they are spoofing a real, legitimate Discover Card customer service number in Utah.  Extremely strong middle-Eastern accent.  He suddenly started cussing me out and using all kinds of vulgarity when I asked him where he was located.  1) He does not even know if I have a credit card.  2) He has no connection with your credit card provider or bank.  3) He claims to be looking at your Experion report, but has no idea who you are.  4) He can NOT lower your interest rate.  5) He wants you to give him your card number so he can rip you off.  SCAM.  FRAUD.

Just received a call from this number Discover card  Spam?  Did not answer as I do not have any credit cards!!!! and Verizon is putting Spam? after the number as a warning.  At least Verizon is letting you know that it might be spam!
Also they did not leave a message.  That tells me it is a scam

It's an actual Discover card number but it's for outside the US use!! Also, I don't have no credit cards!! So how can you reduce interest rates on something no one has? It's a shame our government is so wrapped up in being a repo or dem & not doing the job they are there to do, help the people of this country, protect us from scumbags from over seas!!!

Just hit my cell.  I don't answer any calls that are not in my contacts list or does not show their caller i.d. name.  That was the case with this number out of Utah.  I am thankful 800 notes is online to provide a community of feedback regarding these spam, scam and spoofed numbers because the do not call list is a joke.  I post every strange call/number I get and encourage you to do the same.

Scam using an actual Discover card ph#. This is also happening with Social Securities 800#. I don't engage with the caller, but do call the # myself and let the legit entity know their # is being used in scams.

'Discover'ed another scam !

As a couple of other users stated, this is an actual number used by Discover Card for calls out of the country.  I do have an account with Discover, but they only contact me through email or snail mail.  If they ever found it necessary to call me on the phone, I am sure they would not hang up without leaving a message.  I would like to report such calls, but find from past experience that most companies don't really care.

SCAM, scam, scam!!  Scumbag phishers claiming to be Discover employee with offer to lower your interest rate!  LOL!  What will these scumbags think of next??  Very annoying though.  Don't waste your time reporting them!  Nothing will be done.

Received a call a few minutes ago. Android recognized it as a spam call so it didn't even ring for me. The voicemail is a really crappy robot voice and the message only recorded the tail end, talking about lowering my interest rate. Because it was only the tail end of the message it never said what company is supposedly was.

shows up as Discover, TrueCaller shows hundreds of scam reports

spectrum blocked the call after 1 ring which is a sign of a robo-call and or scam. caller id read discover. i have never heard of a 801 prefix.
