This was an Aetna sales call, asked for me by name. It's also likely to be a company contracted/hired by Aetna to make sales calls but that's just a guess, a possibility but if this is the case, a call could from this number on behalf of another company it contracts with.

Caller asked various questions about Medicare and any other insurance coverage, where I get prescriptions w/basically how I feel about the place & how much I pay for meds there on average, details about doctor like name of primary care doctor (which wanted me to spell for them to take note of, why?) and how much is pay for visits, if I have coverage of other things like dental & hearing. Person seems to already have access to a lot of personal info, such as my home address being read back to me and showed to already know personal details of my medical coverage and things connected to it (e.g. l. It was obvious this was a sales call to sell me a supplement advantage plan to my existing Medicare coverage. Claims they are sending me something in the mail about what they want to sell me and said will be calling me back in 7 - 10 days to discuss it. I agreed it was okay to mail me whatever they want but I did not agree to being called again. The caller went silent and I waited for more to be said but all I could hear were a lot of people in the background talking and so I hung up.

While writing this, I got another sales call from Aetna asking for me by name as did this call. that seemed to be for the same thing but I didn't let the conversation go far on it. The number for this other call was 888-264-1835. I am on the do not call registry. I have no idea if something exempts these places from making calls and even if it does, the power of these parasitic private insurance companies probably makes them immune to the law.
