I answered the phone and the caller hung up. I am not sure what sort of a SCAM call it was but the number is not in service and it displayed on my caller ID as SPAM CHESTERFIELD.

100% SCAM call, the number is no longer in service. Caller ID displayed Scam Chestersfield

Just DO NOT ANSWER!!  DECLINE then BLOCK.
Answering just tells the scammer that they've reached a LIVE number.  These days most everyone has Caller I.D. so if curiosity is getting the better of you, just Google the number then post your info here.

I.D. actually showed call was from Virginia.  I have a friend with the name, but phone # was all wrong.  Declined & blocked.

No, the ID shows the number is from Virginia. Since scammers frequently spoof phone numbers, the call could be from anywhere.

Another person spreading idiotic, moronic rumors/uban myth.  There is no reason that anyone would need to know a number is live.  Not one single reason exists, simply because calls cost nothing and they can actually make a profit dialing them through dipping fees.  Well that blows your whole post out of the water doesn't it?

Called ID showed Chesterfield VA. Was a spam call stating that this was the 2nd notification of the factory warranty on my car.
