I am getting a call from MCI VA Correctional 4-5 times a day.  I do not answer it.  What do I need to do to block it?  I

I have been getting calls from this number in threes, three times per day, for the past week.  The first group is at about 8 am, the next group around noon and the last group about 6 pm.  I don't answer any of these since I don't recognize the number, but it's getting annoying!  Why can't this number be stopped since it's clearly been going on for quite a while?

If you call the number back, you will hear an automatted message. It gives you instructions as to what to do to stop the calls. From what I have heard there are only so many numbers that an inmate can put on their call sheet, and if someone doesn't answer the phone, they are going to keep trying to call you until you do. so just answer it next time, figure out who it is trying to call you, and then follow the instructions as to whether or not you want to accept or refuse the calls from this inmate.

I started receiving 6-7 calls a day from this number a few weeks ago on my mobile phone.  Both home and mobile numbers are on the "Do Not Call" list.  I got on the Sprint website this morning and added the number to my list of blocked callers.  You can either go online or call your provider and ask that the number be blocked.

I did also speak with the Global Tel Link folks - they told me that this calling number is a phony number.  Calls are made by people in jail to random strangers.  They are hoping to get you on to press *72, which will forward their call on to a loved one.  I assume YOU pay the charges in that case.  I'm having GTL also add my number to their list of blocked numbers.

I receive 3 calls (back to back) from this number 3 times a day for the last week. It is an automated operator so I hung up. I answered it finally and it was the automated operator again, this time I listened for a minute and it stated that this operator will call my number 3 times per day and if I did not want to receive these calls to be sure to do everything it asked me to do...then asked me to press 1 for English or 2 for Spanish. Would not do it assuming it is a scam. I found out the number comes from a prison in Virginia. My I-Phone does not have a way to block calls thru Verizon. There is an app on ITunes called IBlacklist Manager for .99 cents-It works too. Worth every cent. Do not dwonload the one named IBlack list it does not work according to reviews.

Inmates will find info from fellow inmates who have friends or sisters and they try to call them to have someone to talk to!  They only have to request your number be on their call list and the system will call you 3 or 4 times a day until you accept or deny your number being put on the call list. Most people are random to these inmates they are just hoping that someone bites!LISTEN TO THE WHOLE CALL AND IT WILL TELL YOU HOW TO DENY ACCESS TO YOUR NUMBER!!!

I am reciving calls 4 to 5 times a day.I called the 877 # to block the calls and still getting calls.

We have gone through their automated system, jumped through all of the hoops, and the calls continue. This has been going on, off and on, for years. It is back on!

Six calls yesterday, at least four today, and at least three calls a day for about the past week. As far as I know, I do not know anyone in their prison system.

No more calls

804 674-1535 keeps calling my cell.  I do not know this number.  How do I block it from my phone?

I answered this call, to the automated voice asking for permission for a female inmate to contact me, I went through the process of entering numbers in answer to questions, basically that they were never allowed to call me again, and they haven't since then. call lasted 1 min 20 seconds.

Today I started receiving calls from Global Telink on my cell phone.  I know no one in a facility and called the number in Ben Steel's message above - that is Tech Support.  They gave me 877-650-4249 and I called and they traced my number to the facility to see if I knew anyone there.  They then blocked my number.

I keep getting calls from 1-804-674-1535. Caller ID displays "Eastern Finance". For over a week now. Considering the number of calls per day, this has turned into harassment.

Called the Global Tel Link technical support staff at 1-877-856-3184 as per a post shown below...spoke with Roger who told me that they don't handle number blocks at tech support and he gave me the number 877-650-4249 which I promptly called...Rachael answered very soon after I pushed #1 for English...she handled getting my number blocked and required that I submit a four digit "passcode" for use if I ever wanted my number unblocked...I made up a passcode for her and wrote it down...I am about to run that piece of paper thru the shredder because if anyone that wants to speak with me happens to be in a correctional facility they will have to pay for their own calls...total elapsed time for the call to Rachael was 7.38 minutes...she stated that the block would be immediate...will update if it doesn't work.
