i received a call from DEA " special agent" joe miller- He told me there was a package of illegal drugs with my name and address intercepted from the dominican republic though india (never ordered) I had  ordered from an on line pharmacy about 5 years ago and due to statute code and etc., I could go to jail for up to 20 years.   He gave me a case number with the DEA and transferred me to another agent by the name of David Stone  and a Joe Campbell.  all in all I spoke to 3 of these guys- not going to lie, they scared me to death and i have done nothing wrong,   they then claimed that they LOOKED me up on the internet, and I was a good citizen with no record, and that all i had to do was "forfeit the package"  + pay a fine to avoid being arrested as and a certified letter would be sent to me exonerating me of all charges.  They said I had to pay $2,000!   When I said I had no money, and I was out of work,  they transferred my call to a Special Agent Jackson who asked me how much money I could give them - I should have realized then that this was pure b.s. but these guys were terrifying. I suggested $250 but said there wasn't enough clear in my bank, and that i couldn't do it today,  when I said I would have to talk to my husband about the money he said that we would BOTH be arrested, TODAY.  I was in my car driving back home, so couldn't look anything up to find these posts (thank you all) I wish I had known, they really made it seem legit, and I consider myself pretty sharp (!)  but very shaky right now... Jackson put me on hold obtain a location where I could go - he wanted to know my current 'location' and zip code so that he could arrange for me to drop the money at an office of the customs agent (really? WTF?)  I was on hold for so long, i finally just hung up - made it home, called the NYC DEA office and spoke to the duty officer who explained it was a total scam... yeah, made me feel alot better,  i kept the message that JOE Miller left me and played it for the duty officer at the NYC DEA office - the agent who answered the phone also told me that they dont have case numbers like that!  (hell yeah i felt stupid as hell but this is terrifying when it happens to you!) and then saw all these posts, (thank you guys)  there is also a special # to call from the office of diversion control 877-792-2873 to report the incident.   I hope they get these guys, It's a federal crime to impersonate an agent!  (this idiot miller had the balls to call my cell phone back again about an hour ago!) straight to vm ! never again!!
