Received a text purporting to be from the "Credit Union". E-mail address included in text was 18052336967@ncua.gov. I was suspicious of this and found postings here under a different phone number of the same scam. Full text of the message below:

"18052336967@ncua.gov / Notification / You have a new Credit Union message alert. Call now free: 1-805-233-6967 to hear it."

I just received the same text.

I got the same message today. I called just to see what it was and the message said you need to verify all your credit card and bank numbers to protect yourself. It is totally a scam and I hung up right there.

Just received this text, too. I am not a member of any credit union, so the message immediately struck me as suspicious...besides, which reputable or legitimate financial institution would try to get you to call them by sending a text message??? Checking now to see if the NCUA has a department that deals with fraud...will definitely forward them the details of this text to alert them to the scam.

I know i just got it too i was like WHAT?! pssssh this cant be right your not stealing MY money...googled the number and took me right here now i KNOW its fake...thanks Google..and thanks guys!

I also received the text.  I googled it and came across this site. It seemed suspicious especially when they are telling you that calling California would be a free call.

I do not know if it will help any but I went ahead and filed a report with the FTC since my t-mobile cell phone number has been on the do not call registry ever since they established it. I have no idea how they could have gone about getting my phone number.

I got this same text message tonight on my Tmobile cell phone.  I googled the phone number in the message and I found this site.  

I have no idea how these scammers got my phone number.

And another in Atlanta at 21:48.

This is a scam. U can call it and spoof them by giving them incorrect info.
