Someone texted me pretending to be Wells Fargo and stating that there was a purchase trying to be made on my account - this IS NOT Wells Fargo - beware - do not answer them

I also got a text pretending to be Wells Fargo. FRAUD. DON'T REPLY OR ANSWER OR CALL THEM BACK.

Texted me I called but as soon as they asked for my ssn I was like nope and hung up.. wellsfargo will never ask for your ssn especially over the phone!!!

Text from “Wells Fargo” indicating to call this phone number if charge was not made by me. Always use the phone number of the bank to call & check, never number provided in text!

Same thing happened to me. Here is exactly what they texted…

Same as above. Text message claiming to be from Wells Fargo.

Just had a text that reads:
(Did you attempt $163.73 at @Shell in Fort Worth  #4156 C-A-L-L 1-805-321-3393 If not.) RefNumber824987

I also got a text message with same verbiage but "Chevron in Buckeye"

Texted me this:

(Did you attempt $156.63 at @Shell in Georgetown  #2386 C-A-L-L 1-805-321-3393 If not.) RefNumber570488

We don’t have a Wells Fargo account

Forward the text to 7726 as spam. This should block the number as well.

Received the same text message except that it stated the charge was at Murphy USA in Los Angeles. Amount $ 184.88

This happened to me today as well. I searched the number they told me to call and found out it's a scam!

I received the exact same text as well and added it to my block list

Me too saying that an attempt was made at a gas station in another state.  If you call, they ask for your social security number - Run, run fast!!!  block the text that came from wellsfargo2033269@well.com

They use an email address from well.com, which calls itself a "cherished destination for conversation and discussion."  Obviously not part of Wells Fargo.
