A call from this Camarillo VOIP number arrived today.  When the call rolled to voice mail, the caller left no message, just dead space.  This behavior is typical of robocallers who use automated dialers to place calls.  If a live person answers, the dialer transfers the call to a live illegal telemarketer.  Slick, eh?  Best not to answer calls from unfamiliar numbers; let your answering machine do that for you.

Called me. No message. Called back and phone rang and rang.

Another unwanted call from this Camarillo VOIP number arrived today, just 3 days since the last call on Jan. 25.  When the call rolled to voice mail, the caller left no message, just dead space.  This behavior is typical of robocallers who use automated dialers to place calls.  If a live person answers, the dialer transfers the call to a live illegal telemarketer.  These guys are the scum of the earth.

The caller, Camarillo CA ( displayed as ID on our pone ), called us @ 10:30, 01.29.2016. I returned the call in different days, no answer.
According  http:800notes.com, the caller has used 805-419-2508 to call people randomly since 01.24.2016.

Caller knew my name. Asked him to I D himself. Did not give me his name. He said he was a painter. Wanted to offer an estimate. Nope. Hung up on him.

Pretending to be daughter of licensed painted. Asked for their contactor number,  she hung up. Hahaha.

According to both Anoid and Dave (see above), the lawbreaking robocaller is an unlicensed painter in search of work.  I would like to recommend a job for this painter at Supermax, the Florence, CO federal penitentiary, whose walls could use a new coat of gray.

Call center for a "licensed painter . . . will be in your area this weekend . . ."  The female rep said she was the wife of the painter (probably a tactic to make it more personal since the notes below stated that one female said she was a daughter.)  It was noisy in the background so it was a call center.  When I returned the call to check on the number, the call went through but it rang and rang without a rep answering nor a voicemail.  Not a good indication . . . probably a scam.

Fast talking female voice says she's the daughter of a licensed painter who's looking for work.  She knew my name and said I'd signed up for an estimate to paint my house and asked when her father could come to my home to give me that estimate.  I said never and hung up.

Caller ID displayed "Unknown Name 419-2508". I'm in the 805 area so area code was not displayed. Caller / auto-dialer hung up when my answering machine picked up the call and no message was left.

I answered, but there was just dead air so I hung up. From the statements of others I will not be answering calls from this number again.

What happened to the National Do Not Call List? What a scam.

Sure makes blocking calls so much easier when I see other people's posts, even if it's just "called, left no msg.".

3/9/2016, 11:01am.  Call from Camarillo VOIP number 805-419-2508, sounded like auto dialer click, then Carola Wilson came on the line. Very persistent telemarketer. Refused to give me company location or CSLB lic# as she was concerned about fraud from me, but assured me they were licensed, bonded and insured, and accredited by BBB. She mentioned it was a family owned business for 20 years, and she works directly with the owner, Joseph — but she did not know his last name when I asked.  Asked Carola to transfer my call to Joseph, and she said he was in a different office and she couldn't. Asked her to have Joseph call me with company name, location and CSLB lic#, and she said OK maybe on Monday. Asked for Joseph’s phone number, she hesitated and then she gave me what she said was their toll free #, 844-330-6988. I asked her if she know the President of the company, PETER AVSHALOMOV, or the RMO DAVID MOSHE HAZAN, as shown on CSLB website with "expired license," and on Sec of State corporation listing as "suspended." She said no, Joseph was the owner.

After disconnect, I tried both phone numbers, neither one in service, so spoofed. She said on BBB but not website says they are not accredited with BBB. CSLB says Contractor License #792547 is expired and not able to contract at this time.  Sec of State corporation #C1778046 is suspended. No website, she says it is under construction, however they have been in business to over 20 years. Total telemarketing scam.

According to poster JdP (see above), the true source of these robocalls is a sleazy North Hollywood contractor known as In & Out Construction, Inc., with phone numbers (844) 330-6988 and (818) 506-6023.  Thank you, JdP, for unmasking this scam contractor!

JdP also obtained additional information from the Contractors State Licensing Board, which shows In & Out Construction with an expired license, and an expired corporation registration with the California Secretary of State, meaning the company is plying its trade without a license to do so!  Here is additional identifying information JdP uncovered:

I just got the call from this number. The guy knew my name and address. Said he was a painter and wanted to know if i had any projects that needed done. I questioned him and he immidiatly hung up.
