Opened a email today supposedly from PayPal. It was like the above . I wrote their phone # down, how much they say I  charged to my PayPal, the student # they gave. So since I  keep a book ledger. And all cash register receipts  of every credit card I  use all I  had to do was look at the books. No I  didn't make that debt. I only owed $20.00.  Always keep your receipts and keep written records of your credit card spending.  I then googled  their phone number and  all this information came up. I knew it was a scam  as I've been done that way before. Thanks everyone for posting.

I too got a similar email saying my subscription for Norton protection had been renewed and $335.99 would be charged to my account, listing 1-805-500-6532 for their accounts department. This is obvious phishing, and I mostly ignore it, although I generally keep the emails for a few days, until I'm sure that no charge is forthcoming.

SCAM. Do not fall for it. Do NOT call them. They said I bought a computer and even sent a name, address, and phone number for the person they are sending it to. This is the phone number they supplied.

Got a call from someone who said they could reduce my cable bill by $50 a month.  "Daniel Adams", who has a distinct East Indian accent said the reduction would entail a one-time $49 charge, but that it had to be sent separately by credit card, not added to my Spectrum bill.  Told him I wasn't born yesterday.  He became abusive and I hung up.
