A text came in that there was a debit card alert & my debit card had been blocked & to call this number. THIS IS A SCAM. DO NOT RESPOND

The same text message. My phone blocked the call as a scam.

Gesh..I feel really stupid.  I actually fell for this scam.  I didn't hesitate to call the number since my bank often freezes my account when I make big purchases for my business.  I called the number right away since I needed my purchase for my business.  I NEVER GET SCAMMED  and very alert with them.  However, I fell and fell hard.  It was all automated and it sounded legit.  The debit card I used was tied to my business account with a ton of money.  I gave those stupid idiots everything about me: my street number, zip code, credit card I just used for my purchase, the credit cards security code and expiration date.  Then they needed more infor and I was stupid enough and fell harder...my birthday and SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER!

I called the bank within minutes of calling this scam number.  Then I called the policer per my banks advice.  The police gave me a case number which I used when I called and reported to the FBI and Social Security.  WHAT A MESS!  I have to wait till Tuesday to change my account.  Its my business account with a ton of transactions going in and out.

I hope they find these idiots and hang the by their balls.  Or I will do it if they tell me where they are at.  I know I am not the only person going through this and it just angers me that even the smartest people can fall.  They are getting to good.  The police said it is most like someone from outside of our country.  India...yep...they are known for scams.  Idiots.

Forward unwanted spam/scam texts to 7726 (SPAM) and let your phone service provider deal with them.
That number was set up by the phone companies to combat spam texts and they can shutdown offending phone numbers.
Never reply with "STOP", scammers will not honor the request (they have no honor to begin with) and it only verifies that they have texted to a valid number and a person who reads their texts.  It will not STOP the texts and may actually make them more frequent.
Never click on a link in such a text as it may cause malware to be inserted on your phone, and even if it does not, just as with replying "STOP" the scammers will know they reached a valid number.

I just got the text on my phone.  I looked up the number on google and found all of these same scam messages.  I sure wish people would stop preying on good honest hard-working people.

Got the text about my card being turned off. Too busy at the time to deal with it. Check my account online and saw nothing unusual. Card worked at the bank and the gas station.

My wife received one today and became very unnerved until I found this site. Thanks to everyone who responded here.

Just got the text.  Googled number and saw all of these messages.
