I received a call from this number.  I am on the DO NOT CALL list.  When I called the number back it is to a reseach company doing opinion polls.

Do yourselves a favor folks and get a call blocker.  Sell a kidney and/or first-born if you must. :-)   I used money that I might have otherwise contributed to a political party or charity.  After the constant calls, I decided to put the money to better use.  The resulting absence of annoying calls is worth it.

My caller ID  said they were news channel 8 poll. I have a appon my I-pad for them, but I've never given them any personal information. I called back and received a message that no one was available and to leave my name and number for an opinion poll.

You can do a google search and find several phone blockers. I bought the "Pro Call Blocker" for about $60. I have all "No Caller I.D.", "toll free #'s.. 800, etc.", "All of the 904 area code" and quite a few individual #'s blocked. It holds up to 1500 #'s. It doesn't let the first ring... ring. Between the 1st and 2nd ring, it gets the Caller I.D. # and if a number has been blocked, hangs up. If not, it lets the phone ring. There's been quite a few times that I'v looked at the display on the blocker, and see where 2-4 calls have been blocked, all without the phone even ringing. A good investment.
