I just received a letter from David Crown, 516 N. Pennsfield Place #201, Thousand Oaks, CA  91360, Telephone: 805-877-8851 with the same information:  "I'm interested in buying your property...for myself...You will save commissions.  In light blue ink, on half a sheet of paper--what kind of business is this?

I just recieved the same letter, "My wife and I are selling a property in Santa Barbara andnow we need to purchase a replacement. We're intereseted in buying your property 115 xxxx. for ourselves, if you are thinking of selling now, kindly call us. - you will save commison-- david crown"

With all the notes he's sending out, he either has a million bucks or he's a broker looking for clients. In either case - proceed with care. May be a scam

If I was interested in selling my house you can bet it wouldn't be to David Crown.  Wish he would he would learn how to write rather than print.  Guess it takes all kinds.  Thanks

I got a neatly printed letter that says:

"I'am interested in buying your property at {address} for myself.  If you are thinking of selling now, kindly call me.  Respectfully David Crown 805-777-8851."  

It's written in blue ink and *appears* handwritten.  And, yes, he wrote I'am instead of I'm!

By the way, the letter also came on a half sheet of paper and the return address on the envelope was:

I am interested in buying your property for myself if you are interested in selling.

I just called and was told that "My son just went away to college at UCSB a couple of months ago, and my wife and I are looking for a residence in Santa Barbara."  In view of the above, it seems as if that was just a bold faced lie.

I was wondering if you know if there are pending lawsuits against these guys. They are trying to scam us on a lease, going back on the terms, and so forth. Please provide any info you have. We may have to go to court.

My mom just received that same letter today.  She lives in Santa Barbara so the scam continues on.

July 23, 2011, we received a letter today stating he would like to purchase our house in Oxnard out by the harbor. Sure glad I looked it up before responding.
