Woman called and said she was a customer service rep for Verizon. She said Verizon was doing a system update and she needed some of my information to confirm my identity. Red flags went up and I asked a couple questions. She hung up on me.

Received a call from someone claiming to be from Verizon.  Wanted me to confirm a password.

same as the rest woman called asking if I was having problems with my phone and wanted me to know that Verizon was doing a system upgrade and I shouldnt have any more problems. Then said "I would like to confirm your information please, I have your number as..." Thats when I hung up. Reported it to Verizon (800) 922-0204 or *611 from your mobile. They confirmed it was definitely not their call.

I got the call today from this number 805-846-3970. A woman with an accent, (Hispanic), asked the same info as in the Neil,B case above. I heard a dog barking in the background and asked if Verizon was checking in to the lines, why was I hearing a dog barking. She then hung up the phone. I called the number back after she hung up and let it ring until answered. This woman is using a Magic Jack phone number. She could be anywhere in the world.

This just happend to my boss, and I came here to check the number. After reading your comments I went a step further and called MagicJack to report the lady and her number. So they are launching an investigation, hope no one gave her any info.

This man just called from this number 805-576-3970.  They asked for personal informationwe did not give them anything.  I called it back and it is a MagicJack number.

I got a call from this number. The lady said that she was calling from Sprint Wireless. She said that they were updating the system to have a better signal. She asked for my password to access my account, which gave me a head up... I told her that I don't remember my password. Then she said that will call my husband on the other #. She verified his # but it was wrong.. I hung up and called back and let it ring. It was a magic jack #.. I called Sprint and let them know.
