    BEWARE they are a scam posing as a collection agcy.  They use old data from old banks and collection accounts in most cases charged off your cred report.  Expecting you to submit or give payment thru the phone to avoid collection purposes.  DO NOT give any info and REPORT THEM to the local FDIC as I DID.

    There is a way to make them pay for every penny so DO IT.  And remember takes a con to know a con

    I check this sight a lot as I was getting tons of calls for a while but have since cleaned my credit report up and have paid off everything. So when I still get calls occasionally I will check the number here. Now that I know what's going on I look forward to receving them and totally toy with them.

    Texas has some awesome laws to protect us. You can read here even if not in texas to get an idea of what your rights are. Never confirm any data with the caller. Ask everything up front and have them send you documentation before doing anything at all. Also check your credit report regularly.

    Also ANY company trying to collect a date on a TX resident MUST have a surety bond. You can verify who has a Surety bond here

    Hope this helps

    these criminals are funnier than Barny Fife from the Andy Griffith Show. Supeonas are not filed. They are Court Oders that must be signed by a Judge to be a valid legal instrument.

    These bottom feeders try to bully law abiding citizens into paying them money for old non enforceable debts. Never give them any information at all.

    When someone attempting to get money for a debt it is always best to pull your credit files(all three) legitimate collections will usually be on your reports. In addition, check the Statute of Limitations on the debt they are trying to collect and always tell them to send to you in writing their proof of claim. Finally, it is a good idea to have a phone line dedicatd to debt collectors and any other crooks that might call you. You simply block their numbers.

    FIGHT BACK!!!!!!!!!!!

    I just received a call from them on one of my phones.  I called them back and a female answered saying "legal department", so I hung up.  A few minutes later that sam number called me back on the phone I called them from, I answered and a recording came on asking for my mother....wth?!?!?  It asked if I was not the person they asked for to hang up so I did.  My mother is disabled and she may have some debt I do not know about, but it has been several years now.  I get these alot and I look up the number to get respsonses as yours to make sure that it is a possible scam.  Thanks for you all imput!

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you

    .•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.
