Call my phone and said that some one gave my number for a reference which is a lie

Got two calls from this number... one identified as Terrance Newman, the other as Cynthia Lomez.  No idea who either of these folks are.  They left a message but didn't say what they wanted.

Called asking for a person we don't even know.  However we are the only one's list in the phone book with our last name for our area.  Terrence Newman saying he had an estate matter to handle with the person.

Left message not giving details regarding nature of call. Stated she was "Terry Payne" and needed to talk to me. Called # back, and she said I had a debt from an apartment complex I lived in almost 2 years ago. She said she wanted to give me an opportunity to pay in now before "further litigation". She did not say what company she was with or who had filed the debt.

Recieved a call from Terrence Newton, my wife answered, said he wanted to speak to me concerning a matter having to do with A) someone we don't know (assumed he looked at the wrong name on his list of names) and then B) he finally used my mother's name, including the name of the nursing home where she passed away 20 months ago. Said to give him a call at 813-283-4624 'until 10:45 tonight'. I immediately googled the phone number he gave. Found this site. Lo and behold, there is (almost) his name. Terrence Newton. Maybe my wife heard him wrong.

Got several calls in as many days asking for us to call Terrence newton about a Marlene Cooper on one call and a Pauline Cooper on  another call.

Got a call from this number looking for a Billy Graham.Sounded like a scam artist searching.

Also received a call from Terry Payne asking for my daughter.  Strange since our daughter is an adult and hasn't resided with us for a few years.  She left her number and asked that I pass a message requesting a call back but wouldn't say what it was about only that it was "a personal matter".  

I called the number back and the recording said the company name is "Hunter Warfield".  Later, a "Steve" answered the phone and I told him I was returning a call and he transferred me to Terry Payne's line which was busy at the time.

Hunter Warfield appears to be a debt collection agency working out of Tampa, FL.

I called Hunter Warfield to set up a plan for repayment on a bill left from moving out of the Altamira Apartments in Colorado Springs. They wanted a second phone number of where I could be reach. Sent out my payment to them and within two weeks I began getting calls from them, and so did my sister, leaving a message to call them with no details on the matter. This company will offer you a settlement for less then what is owed on the dept when you call the first time. Obviously, I didn't settle and expect to get calls until my bill is paid in full.

Received a call from Terrance Newton, left message for a call back and was inquiring about someone we have never heard of. Who does this? How can we give information about someone we have never heard of? Why would we give information to a strange caller in the first place even if we did know who they were talking about?

Got a message from Terrence Newton. Said the message was for me (using my first and last married name) and that he was looking for ______ (my father's name). Had no clue how he'd get my name and number seeing as how was don't have the same last name anymore and I didn't know him. Thank goodness I'm not too blonde. I called my dad and gave him the call back number so he could do whatever he wanted with it.

This might make since if I had any debt that needed collecting, but I don't. Hum....?

Received call from Terrance Newton today asking for Audry Walden.  I've never heard of or know Audry Walden.  Called him back and asked him why he would call me looking for Audry Walden.  He stated that somewhere along the way she must have associated my number with her.  Stated he is working on an Estate matter.  He also advised me that he has taken my number off.

Received a call from this jerk on 6/23/11. He is still at it.

Got a call from this guy multiple times. It appears to be a scam. Claims to be looking for our step-son but would give no information. This is very annoying.

Got the same call like everybody else is posting... Terry Paine a debt collector. If a debt collector is actually real THEY WILL MAIL YOU A INFORMATION PAPER! Ignore the phone calls she says its serious but its a lie i have known people that have listened to them over the phone and paid them then they were phoney and had to pay the debt twice because of their mistake ... im not going to do it! this is HARASSMENT and im sick of it i will be making a note of everytime i get a phone call ABSOLUTELY REDICULOUS!

How ignorant can you be Megan? All you had to do was ask the name of the company and google their name. In this age of social networking there is NO excuse NOT to do your research.

The company that is calling you is called "Hunter Warfield". If YOU google it Megan you will get a load of information on them. They collect on defaulted apartment leases, funeral debt and commerical business accounts. So if you fall into any of these categories ignoring YOUR responsibilities will not help you.

Should you get a call from them and don't owe anything then it's someone who does which put you down as a reference to reach them. Regardless, just so you know this company in most cases will have their client sue you IF you owe money.

I can't understand why ignorant Americans don't take responsibility and stop making excuses for the things they sign.
