Kenya with CLC (Commercial Light Company? Corporation?) called our office & spoke with my boss.  She told him they had been trying to get in touch with him for months (not true - no one in this office has ever heard from this company) and wanted our address to send a meat and cheese gift basket.  
He asked why - she said that was their way of sending out their catalogs.  
He explained that we didn't need any lighting equipment, and if she just wanted to send the catalog, that would be fine, but we didn't need the meat & cheese basket.  
She was insistent that we also accept the gift basket.  
He finally relented and once he did, she then stated that they were running a special on bulbs this month and she could go ahead and place that order for him.  
He repeated that he would not be placing any lighting orders with their company, and she said that since it was the holidays she would offer a smaller, better-priced order and could place it for him right then and there.
He insisted that we would not be placing any orders with their company and she hung up.

I get no hits on the business name or on the phone number when I research them - does anyone else have any experience with this company and their rather strange and shady business practice?

just had this company call 3 times in a row - very intrusive - says he is a lighting company I just dump him in a voice mail and leave it at that

I don't have a problem with telemarketers, in general. I mean, they've got a job to do, even though they are annoying as hell. But what annoys me the most is when pond scum losers like this don't have the common courtesy to thank you for your time before hanging up. Makes you want to hang up on everybody.

Karma is a [***] and I sure hope that people treat these folks like garbage when they are out in their everyday lives. You get back what you put out.

I just received a call from a sales rep at this company and he was as rude as could be to our switch board and to me.  He said he had been trying to reach my boss, but my boss would not call him back.  This is because this is a "COLD COLD" scamming for busines and my boss does not want anything to do with this person.  I asked him his company name and he said he was with a "lighting company" and I asked again what his company name was and he said "Commercial Lighting" - but my phones LED read EASETERN SALES.  I told him my boss was unavailable and he went off on me again.  Do NOT fall for this company's scam of saying "your boss contacted me", when in reality it is just a cold sales cold looking for business.  What they need to learn is that being rude will in no way get your foot in the door.  Don't give this company any business or even the time of day.  Their number is: 813-341-0245

This guy named CHIP DOYLE called my office and was so rude to me. he asked who was in charge of the maintenance in our company, i gave him a name but let him know he was out. He then demanded to have his cell phone. Ilet him know i coulsdnt give that information to unknown callers and he was just smart mouthing me so i had to hang up the phone. Itried calling back to speak to a superviisor, but of course, the number was blocked.
I guess they know they need a real job so they just hate the world for that reason. cheer up! at least the pay is decent. =)

I received a call from 813-341-0245. The guy claimed he was with a lighting company. He asked who changed our light bulbs. I said any of our employees. He asked who purchased our light bulbs. I told him my boss. He said I need to talk to him. I said he isn't available. He said whats he doing? I said he isn't here. I said I can take your name and number. He said give me his cell phone number. I said no, I can take your name and number. He said transfer me to his cell phone. I said no, I can take your name and number, do you want to leave it? He said no and I hung up.
Very Rude and Forceful! Sounds like a scam.

Got phone call from this number "Kelly" asked to speak to one of our managers when I asked where is she calling from she told me form Lightning Company when I ask regarding what was she calling, she asked if Bob was a general manager and insisted to speak with him.  When I asked what she was calling about she said she needs to send him out some lighting instructions and she needed our address. At that point she was very rude and sounded like she was loosing her patience with me. I put her on hold to see if Bob is available. He was out to lunch, so I told her that and asked if she would want to leave a message. She said no and hangs up.

I just got a call from some guy at this number asking for our HR department. When I ask if I could help him he said he needed to verify employment on someone. When I asked him who he was needing to verify he got extremely rude and defensive and told me he could not give out that info. I then asked him who he was with and he again got rude and defensive and said he could not tell me. Needless to say he never got what he was looking for. What is different on this one, he never said he was from a lighting company... I've had those before, but this one was a first... Figured it was a scam....

Stephanie called and asked, by name, for our site and facility manager and proceeded to be incredibly mean and verbally abusive when I called her on the fact that she was making cold-call sales call. She called me a very rude person and said she never wants to do business with me and hung up. I hope she isn't lying about that. YUCK.

Been getting calls from these folks for years.  Usually just hang up on them.  Now when they call, I tell them that I would love to get one of those coolers.  I give them my name which I change to David Cohen (their V.P. of operations) and give them the address of their own warehouse which is 5137 W. Clifton St., Tampa, FL 33634.  They are so dumb, they don't even catch it.
