they call.  They leave a message to push 1.  I hang up and delete. State it's a call from Hillsborough County Jail, maybe it's an inmate.

This is a call from the Hillsborough County jail fron inamate....(a voice comes up and says a name, in my case the name is Wanda) to accept this call pres XXXX to opt out of the call press 1 or hang up.

Real odd call, thanks for the posts . Seemed looking for personal information . Send a payment , credit card information .Hung up and put on call block for life . Thanks again for the posts / warnings about . Should show jail on the caller ID , but only shows number .

Its a free call from someone who is being booked into the jail.a recorded message comes on letting you no someone is in the Hillsborough county jail and then they say their name an you get connected to the caller..... it is a ligitemate,safe call

It's legit, it's animate in Hillsborough county jail on a free call to you, if u listen they will say the name of the person calling.

True. Just got the call. It's definately any inmate in jail and it's a free call. They get 3 of them.

If it's a free call, why do they ask for a  credit card number? And why are you even here since you already know who called you?

I've gotten 3 calls from this number. I blocked the number and they're still leaving messages up to 3 more calls. Unreal!

It's a real call from someone who is in jail. I work in a law office and often get these calls. If you do not know the person, do not answer. It could be a mistake dial on the inmate's end. They have three options to make a call: limited free, prepaid or collect.

No way this is legit. I don’t care what the poster who SUPPOSEDLY works for a law office wrote. This is a scam.

I got a call from this number and is not Hillsborough county jail...it showed prison/jail but was asking me to pay. To my understanding it should be a free call. It said to press a number to set up a payment method in order to talk to whoever call who never left the name.

I doubt that criminals are allowed to make free calls when they are incarcerated.  When you are arrested you get one free call and then after that you either don't get any calls or have to pay.  The purpose of that free call is to arrange a lawyer.
