- montanaroseMy credit card was fraudulently charged $28.45 by "Highsmith Lighting" in Florida. I called the number listed on their website and (surprise. surprise!) found it to be "disconnected or no longer in service."
- AprilCali replies to JoeUtahJust got a 29.55 charge from Highsmith Lighting.. we'll be disputing that one. The other interesting fact is that we made a legitimate purchase from another business located in Florida on the same day.
- JimSame thing happened to me. I am disputing and refusing the charge with my bank. I live in Wa St, so I am curious what the common thread is here and how this scammer got our information. Could we still be at risk? Also, I did find a webpage for Highsmith Lighting with the same phone number and FL address. Nobody answers and no response from the email address listed. http://highsmithlightings.com/index.php

- fetmom replies to DianaWe just found a charge on our credit card for highsmth lighting, fl, same phone number as all of you. We will be calling our cc company. Would love to know how they got the number. We live in Delaware. I am glad I found this site because it answers a lot of questions. We were going nuts trying to figure this one out. We know we did not order anything from this so called business. We will follow up with the attorney general in florida. Thank you to all of you for this information. It was very helpful.
- 1stcruiser replies to shannonAre any of you a recent cruise passenger. I have the charge also. I just took my 1st vacation in 10 years, and this charge is on my bill. I disputed it. The card gave a credit. Then sent copy of a bill
with no detail ecept Etransaction. and a note saying the change is being put back on my card. - LH replies to bobyes--I flew delta last month--ordered 2 drinks--just noticed this highsmith lighting charge!!
- Martin replies to JoeUtahHappened to me too. 8/17/10 for 29.80. I live in Mpls, MN.
- BucyrussI just used a credit card for on online purchase of a restaurant gift certificate today from KGB Deals (one of those companies that offer deals of the day (like a $25 gift certificate for $10). Anyway I put in all my info but never received any kind of confirmation that the purchase went through, so I decided to check my credit account (online) to see if I had a temporary authorization or recent transaction.
To my suprise, I found a temporary authorization for $29.95 (mine should only have been $10) for Highsmith Lighting (a lamp company) which supposedly was posted to my account yesterday. As I have not used this card in several months, I find this to be a rather interesting coincidence.
So I found this website and discovered all the fraud complaints concerning Highsmith Lighting. I then contacted my credit card company who said I have to wait until the tranaction officially posts (not just the temporary authorization) and then I can file a dispute. I'd say the Florida and US AGs need to be notified about this company.- Caller: 813-418-6139
- HelenI noticed a $29.55 charge from this company today but the charge is dated 8/4. Called my credit card company who cancelled the card immediately and will reverse the charge. All my charges before this one were from out of the country as I'd just arrived back on 7/31. Didn't use my credit card on a plane and didn't fly Delta and can't connect to any other possible threads in your emails above. Very puzzling.
- Jazz replies to EduardoOn Sunday, September 19, 2010, my credit card was charged $29.55 from Highsmith Lighting. It appears that there are hackers. How can we get the hackers prosecuted? Who can I contact in California to start the process.
- Kim| 1 replyMy credit card was charged $29.95 from Highsmith Lighting. Never heard of them. Their phone # 813-418-6139. Date: 09/09/2010
- Carl replies to KimI was checking a card and found a charge from 9/21 from them for almost $28.45. Never made the purchase. Never even heard of the CO. To say the least I called the CC and disputed the charge and cancelled the card. They immediately credited me.
- Got me tooSo glad I found this site and discovered I'm not the only one. $29.95 was charged to my Mastercard by Highsmith Lighting on 9/1. I cancelled the card and MC opened a faud investigation. Just to follow the thread, no cruises, no Delta flights, and nothing in common with anything listed above; I live in PA.
