This number AGAIN called and AGAIN left no message, this time at 8:57pm.

Same as other posters.  Just wanted to add our nuisance call to the list.  Called several times over the last few days with no msg.

Again called and again left no message.

We will no longer donate to the American Red Cross.

Called at 8:13 AM.  Left no message.  This IS a nuisance.

This is crazy they have even called after 9pm  and won't stop I  already did the don not call list what's next???

Just called me at 7pm asking if I'd be available at a specific date and time to "help the truck" for Red Cross pickup.  I don't like telling people when I will be home or not.  Since I'm working that day I had to say I won't be home.  Good info for burglars.  They should be more tactful and just ask people to leave the box by the roadside early am for the pickup.  I shouldn't have to be here for the pickup.

I did some further research and came across local phone listings for a business on Florida Ave in Tampa for a second hand store, NOT THE RED CROSS. BE CAREFUL!!!!!

I finally answered this call and it was a nice lady who said the Red Cross would be in our neighborhood and asked if we had items to donate for pick up.  I scheduled a pickup and they did come as promised in a Red Cross truck with ID and receipt for donation.  I told her they need to change the way they show up on caller ID!

I just received a call this morning saying they were claling on behlaf of the Red Cross.  They also asked for my Email address.  I don't give my Email address over the phone.  This could be someone trying to sell my information - which occurs ALL the time.  I don't know if this is a legitimate business.

I wonder if they are the same ones that have white boxes all over St. Pete with a big red cross on them. If you read the printing on the box it says that a donaation is made to the Red Cross from donations to them! I wonder how much they pay the Red Cross for using their name.

After researching, found out this company (CCP) picks up your stuff, then sells it in bulk to Thrift Stores around the country, then gives a percentage of that to the Red Cross. I don't want a percentage of my donation going to a charity. I will just donate directly to my local thrift store, that way, some random company doesn't make a profit off of my donation.

Background: Merchandise Pickup Service (MPS) sells your donated clothing to thrift shops in the United States where they are then sold to the public. They have been in business for over 30 years. They currently have over 300 donation drop boxes in the St. Louis area. These boxes are wooden yellow boxes, which feature "Clothing Donation Drop-Off benefiting X organization." The Red Cross will be a benefactor of the drop off boxes and they will help set up locations.
How it works: MPS has partnered with the Red Cross to set up donation boxes. The value of your donation is determined by weight - MPS donates 6.5 cents per pound to the American Red Cross.

They have called three times over the past week. Left no message. Which leaves suspicion of telemarketers or others trying to prey on emotion to a human voice.What happened to the do not call list.....................

I also received a call from "Merchandise Pic" and when I answered, they simply hung up.  Probably better they did because when I get call of this type they always WILL hang up before I finish cussing them out.

Also many calls over the past few month, often more than twice a day.  I never answer as I have a 'voice' caller ID and the number shows on my TV. Irritating to say the least... not a good 'face' to the Red Cross!
