IRS Scam call left a message Lon my answering machine.  Why do we have to put up with this harassment?

I reported this scammer to the Office of Inspector General/Treasure Department. The number has been disconnected. Here is the response from OIG/Counsel:

Thank you for reporting this scam call information to us. I will add the information you provided to our database, we’ll look into the number for any investigative leads, and I will work with the carrier to terminate service to the number.  If you receive more calls from the number you reported, you should ignore it or block it if possible.  I would also encourage you to spread the word to your family, friends, civic groups, and local law enforcement about this scam so others do not fall for it (the scammers often target geographic areas so many people in your community could be receiving the calls as well).

If you receive more calls in the future from other numbers, feel free to report them to us as well.

Steve Martin called a michigan number twice as well with the same voice message as everyone else. A federal criminal offense etc....and i need to call 815-553-0627 to help them help me. (I bet...) Complete scam!! Hopefully they are caught!!!
