1.  If you receive a check, bring it to your bank, tell them you suspect it is not valid, and ask bank to verify the check!
2.  If check is not valid, bring check and the envelope in which it came to your post office, where they could file "using the mails to defraud".
3.  Obviously, do not ship product or a refund until well after check is validated and paid.

Posting that here will not result in LE seeing it.  Anything that comes in the mail should be taken to the post office and forwarded to the Postal Inspectors.
